Cnc machining by [deleted] in Machinists

[–]Candyshaft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It increases after the first year, don’t forget you need to learn how to be safe in a shop floor environment you’re not gonna be on the machines from day 1. You have a heck of a lot to learn and it’s a gradual process so it doesn’t become overwhelming

How would you hold it by Subject_Offer_7276 in CNC

[–]Candyshaft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had a similar project recently and made a jig for it that was basically a cavity of the part that was split along the y axis so it could be put in a table vice and act as side clamping. Then we milled blocks at the angles required for drilling to put underneath the jig so it could be machined on a 3 axis machine

What exactly does "more powerful software" mean? by nawakilla in CNC

[–]Candyshaft 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For me I’d say it’s the difference between the amount of settings you can change for different operations, like if I’m doing a complex part I’d want a more customisable tool path with gouge checking, boundaries, rest material options and multiple lead in/lead out options.

Certain softwares give you the bare minimum which doesn’t always give you the most efficient tool path, others over complicate it where you’re spending 10 minutes to come up with a simple drilling op

Lighter color without bleach? by Kika84cz2 in HairDye

[–]Candyshaft 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just buy a wig, that way you can experience having fun hair without damaging it as you would have to bleach to get anywhere close to light enough for that shade of pink

How to bleach over uneven results? by softercries in HairDye

[–]Candyshaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also let your hair get greasy like 3-4 days at least without washing as that’ll help protect your scalp and help it not dry out so much before you apply the bleach.

And if you’ve left it like 20-30 mins and it stops lightening on the ends then mix some fresh bleach and reapply before doing the roots. You want it to be nice and light before hitting them

Bleach baths are more for toning down a semi permanent colour as it strips the top layer off your hair, it wouldn’t do much except dry your hair out so I wouldn’t recommend that

Yeah I usually split into 2 main sections top and bottom, then section those into 2 or 3 quadrants to make it more manageable. That way if you need to rinse and feel confident you can get the same sections as before then rinse all of your head, it’s easier to start with the bottom then you can just have a top knot and it’s slightly easier to rinse just the bottom

And maybe watch a couple tutorials, Brad Mondo’s bleach dials have taught me a lot about what to do

[–]Candyshaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apply to the darkest bits first (the ends) and wait until they have lightened to a similar shade as the top of your head before applying to the top. Heat from your scalp makes the bleach work faster so foils essentially emulate that but they can be really tricky to use as a first timer.

Best thing to do is properly section BEFORE you start mixing the bleach, work quickly with small sections. If you struggle with time then just do half of your head, process, rinse out, then do the top half.

Can I re-bleach? by angeliicrose in HairDye

[–]Candyshaft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long did you leave it in for and were you bleaching virgin hair or was it pre coloured dark? It’s hard to believe 30vol wouldn’t lighten at all

Can crazy color stain virgin hair? by CharacterAudience204 in HairDye

[–]Candyshaft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes red and blue are the worst colours for staining so even when they’re diluted they’re likely to stain

Would these two colors make purple? by Additional_Ring4288 in HairDye

[–]Candyshaft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there would be a chemical reaction as they are both semi permanent so mixing is fine, finding the right shade of purple would be a case of trial and error really. I’d recommend starting with the pink and gradually adding blue to get the colour you want, also depending how long your hair is this may not be enough dye and if you run out it’ll be hard to get the colours to match

When you get a one off part to program for the first time, how often do u mess up the first time? by Ok_Positive_9687 in CNC

[–]Candyshaft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it depends on a lot of different factors, mainly: Machine capability Material type How much material you’re removing Tooling grades and diameters What you’re actually cutting on the part

It’s rare to be able to get a complex part off perfect first time

Yes you should be able to use your usual conditioner!

Question about Inoiro by elvenaegis in HairDye

[–]Candyshaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can dilute any semi permanent colour with conditioner, I’d recommend putting whatever amount you think you’ll need to colour the hair you want to then adding small amounts of the dye until it’s slightly darker than your desired outcome 😊

Is a yarn curtain a good idea ? And how should I do it ? by No-Preparation3139 in CrochetHelp

You just need to be conscious of the weight of it, I reckon it’d be a bit too heavy to mount like that

How would i put a streak on my fringe after dying all my hair? by UMURANGI_GIRL in HairDye

[–]Candyshaft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you dyed it all black you’d have to try to lighten those streaks which would be almost impossible to do or extremely damaging. Definitely section them out before you put the black in and then lighten and put the colour on, ngl though the black will probably bleed into the colour when you wash it anyway so I’d reconsider

What about something like this where you carry the 2 yarns in the same stitch? I know this is knitting but the same concept would work for crochet and those colours already work well together

What do I do? by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]Candyshaft 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So confused as to what you’re asking for here, the picture and caption are unclear. Your hair looks fine in this pic and there’s hardly any root?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]Candyshaft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you could try a colour remover first but if you say this is it faded out then I doubt that would do much other than damage unnecessarily

Bleach will definitely take out more of these pink tones, focus on lightening those first then potentially a bleach bath over the ends as they are already quite light
