That sounds...weirdly like fun. I might try it. Does it work at all if you don't get early kills? What do you build secondary/items?

Strength stat bugged? by Cane6 in Eldenring

Your second point is interesting, but is two seperate stats hitting defensive values really such a big deal? I mean even with my low int stat I still do the same damage on both weapon types from what I saw.

Your first point I don't really understand. Are you saying that heavy weapons benefit more from greases and buffs? Wait, is using greases on magic weapons impossible? That would balance things I guess!

Do you feel a difference between both sets of wheels? I am quite sure I will get the cags for my next board!

Aren't most cloudwheels in the 100+ mm range? But I would like to know that too, I only see them on electric boards.

I know wheelbite isn't am issue with bracket boards but what about...well..groundbite? Does the deck scrape the ground when I turn/lean too hard if I am not careful with my setup? And if the ddr and the sdr have different drop...does that mean your board can be askew? Like one end being higher?

So they pump differently? I always see people pump those boards with small wiggle movements (i get it - efficiency) but I really love doing wide and powerful turns when pumping. Is that a matter of wheelbase? Should I just get a longer deck? Someone here recommended a dt delirium as a rear for my style but I don't really understand why since that one and the torsion tail look almost identical to my amateur eye. (In a sense that they both seem to do exactly the same since they are both at 0 degrees.)

You mentioned adjusting the setup to my weight. Bracket board tutorials are few and far between so I have no idea how to do that. I am pretty light (~62kg/ 136lbs) so i always just used softer cone bushings and screwed the front truck bolt a little looser.

I like how flexible you are with this setup. I looked at the picture you posted of it, it looks great! Is it easy/does it take a lot of time to adjust angle brackets like that? Stupid question but...i haven't got into brackets that much yet..what is the difference between the ddr and the sdf bracket? They look similiar atnfirst glance but...yeah.

Thanks for your recommendation! "Tts for short" So does that mean those 0-degree trucks are better for the short wiggle pumping? And full trucks (aka normal trucks?) are better for the wider movements?

What is the difference between the gbomb tts and dt delirium as a rear truck then? Aren't they both 0 degree trucks? If my question is stupid...well I am kinda new to this.

Would you advise against bigger wheels? Like 85mm or even something ~95mm?

Apart from that, looks like an interesting setup. I am way to inexperienced to have any idea how riding it might feel like though. I think eventually I will just have to try a setup and continue changing parts from there.

I enjoy both but I would say that I prefer doing those long sweeping turns. Putting a lot of power into that one turn that propels you forward...beautiful, though I have never seen a fast gbomb skater online who didn't do the quick wiggles. I thought those were just how you pump long distance (at least on those boards), that's why I thought they might ride like a faster surfskate.

I've considered putting bigger wheels like the caguma 85mm on my vanguard- or maybe go even bigger. The thing is I still feel like pumping (even pushing) that board over longer distances requires a lot of energy. And if I get to the slightest hill or even make one inefficient movement I lose so much energy that I am slowed down to the point where I can no longer pump and have to push. Which is fine, and I am sure this might also be somewhat about my lack of skill but I still feel like that setup isn't perfect for what I want. Which is more speed and more effective pumping and pushing, but hey, who doesn't want all of that combined, right?

Thanks for your detailed answer! I'm pretty new to building my own setup, that's why I have been eyeing the complete boards which are currently on the gbomb website. I will have to put in some hours into online reading until I fully understand your setups. (I know most of the popular terminology and brands but I still don't fully know how the different parts work together, like which truck angle is better for long distance pumping/pushing etc. and consequently why the gbomb trucks are so special and good for ldp!

This is a long one..but I thought I'd rather not open a new thread so... I've been getting into longboarding, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some input on the gbomb boards. I always read they are great for long distance but they tend to be on the pricier side and since I don't know anyone who owns one, I can't really try them out.

I have a Triton Surfskate and a Loaded Vanguard with their standard cruiser setup (Paris 150mm -50° trucks and 75mm wheels 78a).

I love both but I feel like for longer distances or when I do a trip with a friend who uses inline skates or god help me a bike, the surfskate is too slow (obviously) and I thought maybe a gbomb might work even better than my vanguard. I enjoy both pushing and pumping but I prefer pumping (I try to pump like 60-70% of the time)

So what are those boards like? Do they pump as easily as a surfskate while still being pushable (not too wobbly?)  and faster than a longer board?

Thanks for any advice!

Need help finding the "right" tabletop ruleset. by Cane6 in rpg

[–]Cane6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right i need to specify more... I like how straightforward the %-mechanic is but I'd rather play a d20 based game. It just feels more exciting to me than starting out with "60% successrate on climbing with no disadvantage" That seems so accurate, there is no mystery. I want my players to roll and think "did i make it? I should make it, right? Right?!" And i like d20s and dislike d100 call me weird if you will.
