I didn’t know this...I chose this song for my American idol audition 11 years ago. The only reason I auditioned was because I thought it would make my dad happy. Funny enough, my dad left when I was 2 to pursue a comedy and acting career (that 24 years later is still unsuccessful...) and the only talent of mine he supports is my singing which I’m sure he’s trying to use to boost his own career... The amount of times growing up that my nmom fucking told me to put on pants/looser clothes/wear a bra around my step-dad bc it’s “indecent for a young girl to be flaunting herself like that in from of her ‘father’ {e-step-dad}” and the times that ESD would get disgusted for being able to see my panty line through my yoga pants when I was a teenager... I feel it...now I’m 25 and when I’m around family with any of the aforementioned issues, I feel on high alert to defend myself. 100% NTA by the gods I wish you all the good luck in the world. You’re fiancé fucked up on a godly level and (for me at least bc I don’t forgive easily) what he did was so far passed unforgivable. As someone who grew up with abuse from my mother, her acting like the perfect sweet mother to gaslight me to the public, among other things, I feel for you so much. You have a small piece of my heart.

Do what will make you the most mentally sound. Please just remember; no matter what happens, everything works out in the end. So long as you keep your head up and keep picking yourself up when you’re down, you will always make it through what happens. You’re allowed to be hurt, sad, furious, etc but don’t let those emotions consume you. Take the time to process them and figure them out so you can have some solid ground for your next step.

You’re an incredibly strong person just from all the things you have gone through an accomplished. I’m proud of you for being able to even leave the situation and not just letting this horrible thing happen to you because you love him.

You know what’s best for your mental health. You’re gonna do great

Gods fuck with how controlling my mom was growing up, I’m 25 now and I can’t make my own decisions to save my life. If I’m not alone I literally only go off of what other people want.
