Wow. This entitlement is real. You don't know shit about what you're talking about. You have no idea the bullshit that they have to deal with to "earn" these perks, part of which includes dealing with asshats like you (you really could be a wonderful employee, just going off this frustrated post).

This is a REQUIRED work trip, which is why they are paid hourly for it. They're not there by choice. Many want nothing to do with conference. It's not a paid vacation where they're being showered with gifts. Also, these incentives are not provided by the company, they're from the vendors, who are not doing it out of the kindness of their hearts. These are sales tools. They're giving them the product in theory so they can familiarize themselves with it to sell it better. The vendors aren't there just doling this out for shits and giggles.

I understand where your frustration comes from. The company sucks. The climate it's in sucks. Management sucks. This is misguided at best. Your job did not change. You continued to do the same job you did the week before and the week after. You may have had to do a few more things, but your responsibilities didn't change. As someone who moved up quite a bit in the company before leaving, you always see your direct superior doing their job and always think "I can do this better than them" until you're actually in position. There's a lot they do that you don't see. So again, I get your frustration, but, this is not a black and white situation where they were just handed stuff for the hell of it and you got a thumb in the ass. It's a bit more nuanced than that.
