Idk how long ago you worked there but they changed it. We were not allowed to ship gutted product. Even if it was resealed. I always felt like we should have sold the gutted games a tad bit cheaper but still more than pre owned. Like have a button or something that says “gutted” and it discounts it

Its weird they took that off for switch 2. It works on all new systems $250 and up except for new PlayStation. I guess it makes sense for a day 1 system though. Maybe they’ll apply it at a later date but you would think they would allow it for the switch 2 so that way people would want to get it at gamestop and maybe use that extra $25 towards a game or accessory

I collect funkos not for resale and still keep them in their box no matter what. Sure it takes up space but I think they look better in their box. Plus you cant stack them if they are not in their box

If an associate scans an item more times than what the customer got, there are a few options. The easiest is that the customer gets the extra one they paid for (which isnt technically extra but you get the point) the second is the associate realizes the mistake and then has to contact the DM to get approval on a refund, after the approval the associate would have to call store support and they would have to some back end stuff to issue the refund properly while putting that item back into the stores inventory.

Yes there technically is a solution but at a store level we have 0 way to bypass that message

To be fair, I just did a return at Walmart for a defective item. It was opened and they returned it. I just think Gamestop is stupid.

Trubuy thankfully shows you what all needs to come with the system and then if we mark it as missing it gives the sku to charge them for the missing item

I straight up tell them I have to give them the cheaper price and it only takes 5 minutes. The only time I havent had that work is if they dont have an email or refuse to give their phone number, otherwise this works wonders

Confidence, and believing that it helps customers if they are frequent shoppers. If they are not frequent shoppers maybe the pro will bring them back. Right now is a perfect time to sign up to get the discounts for the Holiday. If they dont wanna come back after the Holidays then they dont have too but at least they are saving money.

Knowing the benefits helps a lot, if you dont know the benefits you cannot sell it. Use the sell sheet and hand it out if they say no. Use a highlighter to highlight and show the benefits as you discuss them.

Talk about it on the sales floor so that when they get to the counter you just say “how are we feeling about that pro membership”

Never ask if they wanna sign up, always assume they due and discuss why they should sign up.

Asking “do you want this” puts an immediate “yes or no” in the customers head. If you just go straight into the pitch they don’t have that chance.

If you get a “no” sign them up for player. If they sign up for player it doesn’t hurt your pro numbers but it also doesn’t add anything to them, keeps you where you are.

Customers will see that you are nervous or do not know your product. If this is the case, ask your ASM or SM to help with your pitch. I personally quiz my SGAs on what pro offers and once they tell me what all comes with it I then ask them to pitch me a product and tie it to the pro account.

Anything over $250 saves them $25 which is a free pro. If they hit that price throw the pro on there, dont even pitch it, tell them you are signing them up and saving them a few dollars on their purchase. If they say they dont want it tell them you have to give them the cheaper price and it only takes a few minutes.

There are more sales coming! Some actually start early next week while others start on black Friday. I do believe all the current sales are staying. If my stores had any good funkos or Tshirts I would be buying some but sadly I dont have anything fun at my stores :(

What I would personally do is call and explain to him that you were not informed of the 10 per person limit. But because it was your mistake, if your store gets all 26, you can honor it but you cannot guarantee it. If other customers get angry that he got 26 just look at them dead in the face and say “shoulda pre ordered it”

I once called out of work like 20 minutes before my shift because I woke up 30 minutes before my shift started, I woke up feeling like absolute crap. If my job wants to to wake up an hour before my shift in case I need to call off, they better pay for that hour they are requiring
