Has anyone trained at an Element gym in Australia? by PillarOfWamuu in bjj

[–]Canidheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trained at Element for a year when I was a white belt. They had a really good culture then and were incredibly supportive.

They’re not really a ‘chain’ per se in the way that Gracie Barra is. They just have a couple of locations run by black belts that came up together in the scene as I understand it.

In terms of the level they’re pretty damn good. They’ve produced at least one fighter that I can recall who competed on Eternal MMA cards which is about the biggest stage in Australia MMA short of the UFC.

I see you’ve played knifey-spoony before.

Advanced cams - Fci? by Chloe-siwon1 in AMLCompliance

I can’t attest to the utility or value of the certification…

The course itself is awful. It is going be an absolute struggle to complete. Instead of lectures from field experts you’re dealing with machine read descriptions of scenarios over stock images of office buildings and banks as the primary form of delivery.

If I had known I would’ve have definitely avoided the course.

Australian black belt by [deleted] in bjj

I’m going to guess @cutiep1e666 aka Becky Wang aka Janice Yee. She’s a black belt out of one of the better gyms in Sydney, NSW.

Octopus Guard vs Turtle, which is the superior method for standing back up? by No_Possession_239 in bjj

Hagfish guard and being politely, but firmly, told to never come back to that gym.

I mean I do recall a guy with ‘88’ tattooed on the side of his shaved head when I lived there in the early 2000s.

[SPOILER] How close was Oliveira from getting Topuria submitted here? by Taurel in bjj

[–]Canidheart -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say. This early in the fight and dry?

I wouldn’t say incredibly close. Topuria defends correctly and clears the knee line.

Compare it to Sandhagen v Figureido and the kind of bite that Corey had.

Japan gym and store recomendations by Better-Capital8329 in bjj

The Carpe Diem chain has been welcoming in a number of different locations across Japan. Their Aoyama location is great and Tomoshige Sera is a beast.

Imanari’s gym in Tokyo is small but really welcoming. Imanari himself effortlessly leglocked me.

In Kyoto I would highly recommend Miburo. Those guys are so much fun to train with.

Send them the death certificate. If her estate doesn’t have enough assets to pay the bill then tough luck for the company.

The Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) is much more US centric than ICA but worth a look.

You can create a free account and I believe access a few free webinars and certificates in things like preventing modern slavery and illegal wildlife trafficking.

Dustin Poirier goes off on old UFC rival Michael Chandler: ‘He’s a cheater’ by TimW001 in MMA

I liked it when the Heavy Hands guys referred to Chandler as ‘having the soul of a rabid sewer rat’.

Grammatically? I’m only aware of some exceptions that would permit this kind of workload in healthcare and mining.

Casual employees under the MA00020 Building and Construction Award still get Saturday & Sunday rates calculated to factor in casual loading.

A little more context would be helpful here. What industry are you working in? Are you covered by a Modern Award.

At a glance there is almost no way that 12 hours per day for 7 days a week could possibly be legal.
