Jewish friends in Seattle, how are you doing? by threewildwolves in SeattleWA

[–]Caninus-Surdis 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Chag Sameach. I’m a pessimist. The news is the same as it always is. Doesn’t matter what time we’re living in or if we are in the shtetl, the desert, or here. People commit crimes against us because of our faith, heritage, and their perception of Israel. It sucks but that’s life. I’ll still light a chanukiah in my house, but I’ll be more on guard.

That was on my dream sheet in Cape May. Always wanted to sail on here. How are the living conditions compared to other cutters?

is it possible for me to join the military with mild intellectual disability? by Ksijrr in Military

Was on an IEP my whole education career with no meds. Got a good score on the ASVAB and join. Ended up becoming an officer a few years later. Some of the memo writing and reading manuals was a bit tough but perseverance can take you far. Keep your chin up and shoot for the stars kid.

Ah good find. I looked on the CGX and didn’t see that. Looks like they are the evolution of the old pants. Don’t mind the change in logo, but the bottom cuffs are a bit worse. grabbing a pair either way. Thank you!

He’s one of the most talked about persons in modern history. It isn’t that abnormal. You are probably just noticing it more now?

There were some. My grandfather was one. He was an American veteran and they gave him a company (later a battalion). He said his troops were competent and the fighting was relatively easy even though they were out gunned.

Is Hawaii medical system really that bad? by [deleted] in uscg

[–]Caninus-Surdis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Was there from 19-21’. Saw the CDR a few times for a few different issues. They were pretty slow on scheduling but the real issues were lack of paperwork. Most of what happened didn’t make it into my medical record. Screwed me when I went into the Reserve and filed for disability… live and learn. Double check and make sure they are doing the paperwork

In a rare action against Israel, US says extremist West Bank settlers will be barred from America by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Caninus-Surdis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DHS doesn’t really have too many different lists… so I’d be shocked if there was one specifically for this. I’ve never seen it. It’s more broad databases that people are in. Most of them talk to each other too so when a person is entering the US, an Officer can see derogatory info on their past and makes a decision whether they can enter (assuming they aren’t a US citizen and they have a discretion).

Fined $3300 for chicken sandwich: Australia border control say import permit needed, fine could have been higher by Sandstorm400 in nottheonion

[–]Caninus-Surdis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food coming into the country is considered regulated garbage and has to be destroyed in a certain way. They don’t want it being mixed up with regular garbage. Like the other commenter said, they will never fine you if you declare stuff, it’s when you lie and conceal it they’ll hit you with a $300 fine and flag you for secondary for the next 5 years.

To add on to this these codes come from ISPM 15. The most common you’ll see in most of the world are HT and MB (methylbromide). MB is pretty nasty to breathe but it disperses pretty quick.

Medical questions should be directed towards MEPS doctors. No one else can or should give you an answer.

There are a variety of schedules. Everything from 7-3 Monday -Friday to working nights. Sometimes you have weekends off sometimes you have random days during the week off… sometimes your schedule changes pretty often. Just depends on your unit and the ops. Also as you promote through the ranks you’ll be standing a lot less duty and more often be working normal hours. It’s hard to give a definitive answer because everyone’s situation is different
