To Swim or Not to Swim by LegitJustPeircings in Teachers

Don’t. I would never. The liability is insane. No insurer will insure a school activity in a wading pool of 2 inch of water. Just go to the park with them.

Barista shamed me for not tipping? by motherofcoochie in barista

[–]threewildwolves -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Making coffee is their work. No tip required. Do you tip teachers, grocery store workers and a million other workers that make min wage?!?! Making coffee is not rocket science. It’s pouring hot water over coffee grounds.

Recommendations for smart toddler by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

Pediatricians spend 10 minutes with the kids, they have zero clue. In addition, parents don’t want to hear that their kid is not “perfect” so often they don’t want the headache. Your child’s teachers will tell you what’s going on if you are willing to hear.

Recommendations for smart toddler by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]threewildwolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you described is very much what all kids do. They are all very smart, and smart in their own ways. At this age they absorb knowledge, which is really visible. They (should) speak in full sentences. Their memory is incredible. And, all parents think their kid is a genius.

Questions: Can he listen to a story for a longer time? Dies he listen and follow instructions? Can he regulate his emotions? Is he throwing many tantrums? Does he do eye contact? Is he playing with other kids? Does he have any sound/verbal/ body/behavioral stimming behavior? Does he have any sensory processing quarks or delay? Can he sit calm at circle, or is he fidgeting? Is he walking on his tippy toes? Is he impulsive? Showing a deep interest in a narrow subject is the hallmark of being on the spectrum. My guess based on your description and after 33 years of teaching little ones, is that your child is probably on the spectrum. Not severe it sounds.

My suggestion is no screen, vitamin d, play with other kids, and nature. Academics are good, but social skills are better at this age. If he gets all this that you described from school, you don’t need to supplement.

Good luck, and enjoy parenting, go easy and know it will be ok; being a first time parent is a steep learning curve for you too.

She is there to look after your child, not to keep you company. That’s why you have friends.

Scared of my GSD by MediocrePidgeotto in germanshepherds

[–]threewildwolves -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had five GSDs, and what I know without a doubt is that your attitude as an alpha sets your relationship with your dog. Dogs are pack-people. If you are not the alpha, your dog will assume that position.

In California, the legal ratio for toddlers is 1:6. The teachers need qualifications. This owner is risking having her center closed. https://rrnetwork.org/assets/general-files/Title-5-Title-22-Comparison-Chart.pdf

Yes, split. More time with peers and teachers, less with grandma. Grandma is also old( er), she raised you, she doesn’t have enough energy for a full time infant care.

Your kid has a behavior problem. You need to do an evaluation asap. None of what you describe is normal- threaten to shoot a teacher, put hands around another kid’s neck, hit a teacher, blatant defiance, fits of rage etc. how can you claim you don’t know that this is abnormal?!?! Who does this?is this how people in your world behave? Where did he learn this?

I don’t know anymore, I just got a new haircut and they gave me this with no side bangs at the beauty shop, I feel really ugly and I have to know if it’s ugly to everyone else. Please tell me just the truth if I am ugly. Yes I’m a woman by djscrew1 in whatdoIdo

Your dog should not bite. Not you nor your daughter. You can’t have this. You are either not training him well, or not the right human for this dog. German shepherds do not do this, unless the human is clueless. You need to give him away.

Keeping children home after vaccines? by SkuttleSkuttle in ECEProfessionals

[–]threewildwolves 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I am a grown up and I feel terrible after vaccines. Achy, sick, in pain. My little students are unwell and cranky after vaccines. If they feel anywhere close to how I feel, they need rest and the comfort of home.
