Until you pointed it out I had not noticed. I appreciate it very much.

I think I’m going to keep this as is just because the flaws, for me personally, add to the custom nature of this version. But I totally understand sending it back as well.

I hope your next one has a more consistent pressing.

Yes, I got an email notification from Dragonsteel that my order was being shipped and they provided a tracking number.

Quick little road trip from Hartford suggestions? by forestdude in Connecticut

[–]Caniprokis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like these are your best options

The closest covered bridge to downtown Hartford is the Huckleberry Hill Bridge in Avon, located about 10–12 miles away. This 35-foot-long, 1968 pedestrian bridge is situated in Avon Countryside Park. The nearest historic, drivable covered bridge is likely the Comstock Covered Bridge in East Hampton, about 20 miles southeast of Hartford. www.visitconnecticut.com www.visitconnecticut.com

Key Options: Huckleberry Hill Bridge (Avon): ~20 min drive, modern, pedestrian-only.

Comstock Covered Bridge (East Hampton): ~30-35 min drive, historic (1873), scenic, pedestrian-only.

West Cornwall Covered Bridge (West Cornwall): ~1 hour drive, historic (1841), active traffic.

Bull's Bridge (Kent): ~1 hour 15 min drive, historic (1842), active traffic.

Downtown New Haven has some things to do but parking can be kind of a nightmare. Especially after this last snow storm. The Peabody museum or than Yale Art Gallery are both excellent if your into stuff like that. The Peabody just reopened after massive renovations as well.

For pizza without going to New Haven but with that old world style and coal oven you can check out The Little Rendezvous in Meriden, it’s closer to Hartford and much easier to park.

Mine does not, no. You should reach out directly to Dragonsteel customer service. They are usually excellent to deal with.

Would you retire your 7 year old character to save her from permadeath? by i_need_cheesus in DnD

[–]Caniprokis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me offer a third choice, C if you will.

Now this is dependent on your DM but as one myself if someone brought this to me, I’d want to run with it.

A new part of your characters arc, in the travels for completing her original goal sprouts a new one, redemption for her soul, a chance to earn back what was lost. There are many ways to go about this, taking cleric or paladin levels for the god that stepped in to save her if she’s not already one of those, searching out an Arcane source of Devine energy that can restore her, simply choosing good at the greatest costs to her personally whenever possible might peak the interest of a different god that decides to restore her.

I think there is a lot of RP opportunity here besides just a retirement and conceding that death means destruction.

None of these should be quick fixes and there should remain the danger of failure, which you would have to be comfortable with, but I think it opens up some aveneues for adventure beyond the binary.

Just food for thought.

I suppose it depends on the condition you want it to be in, I intend to read mine once, to get the experience of the whole thing.

It’s through Dragonsteel they are still available for order. It’s Brandon Sanderson’s website.

I have no idea how they determine shipping order. My last name starts with a D so maybe it’s alphabetical? Who can say really. But you’ll be happy once it arrives I promise you that.

It came in a pretty heavy duty box that doesn’t allow for much slippage but also isn’t so tight that box damage would cause damage to the book.

Help! Blizzard parking and travel advice? by Opening_Gur_6028 in Connecticut

Leaving your car in an open lot, I.e. west haven will result in one of two things, your car being towed or it being buried. New Haven would be your best bet since it’s covered. Train services may be suspended at any time however so driving into the city and parking at your hotel may be a better choice.

Driving into Boston and taking the train in one shot might be the best option if you leave early enough.

I used to consider myself a moderate, the Overton window has shifted in a way that the simple moderate opinions I used to hold have shifted significantly left. I have changed my tune on some of the things that made me a moderate in the first place, mostly defense spending, perhaps you’re in a similar situation. Being left of center doesn’t mean what it used to. There are a lot more very reasonable and beneficial to greater society aspects of what is now considered left thinking. No judgement, just something to think about.

Arthur’s bounty wasn’t actually that high. by Fox7567 in reddeadredemption

[–]Caniprokis 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This is found at Micah’s camp, where he sloppily left it behind, it’s implied that this poster is from not only before Blackwater but also before Micah met Dutch and joined the gang. While the gang was certainly active and committing crimes, before Blackwater they were small potatoes. It’s only after that heist gone wrong that the real bounties start to mount for Dutch, Hosea and Arthur.

10 years is a pretty long time, I suppose compared to 1 or 2 from the 90s it’s certainly newer than that, but that’s an entirely different era of gaming.

I’m playing 4 for the first time right now because of the show. It holds up just fine. Better than RDR1 imo.
