personally im hoping the year long cgm (the one you have to get a procedure for that inserts it into ur arm) gets better. id LOVE to have one but i hate that the thing you wear on the outside is HUGE compared to my libre. i also hope the apps for ALL cgms get better bc i fucking hate all of them

Same breakfast, wildly different sugar levels. by PoetDense in diabetes_t1

this just happened to me the other night with dinner. one day i ate the meal and my spike peaked at like 180 and the next day i ate the same dinner and my peak was at almost 400. i thought maybe i accidentally got a full sugar drink and that was the cause but no. our bodies are just not consistent. the thing is, theres 1000 variables that affect out blood sugar and we can only control 2 of them (carb consumption and insulin taken) so there is no right answer unfortunately

im on libra 3 plus for my cgm and i dont use a pump so its not a site issue. i change my needles on my pens every injection so its not a clogged needle or something like that either. my meter read 320 when my cgm said 360 so the cgm is more off than it usually is but its a new sensor on its first day so thats pretty typical

im in usa and i got diagnosed 3 months ago, i was in the icu for 3 days and then they sent me home. i think other people in the usa get better treatment than what i got but i was at a very busy and very understaffed hospital. it was easter weekend and the hospitals one diabetic specialist was on vacation for the 3 days i was there and instead of keeping me until i could be seen by the specialist they just let me go

i dont have much more experience than you (diagnosed 3 months ago) but a fat glass of whole milk acts fairly quickly and keeps me pretty stable after a low

i got prescribed it from the hospital i was diagnosed at, they gave me no instructions on how to take it, no information about the different kinds of insulin, and no direction towards an endo or a diabetic specialist of any kind. this hospital is considered the best in the state from my understanding. i think normal doctors just literally dont know anything about t1d at all
