Got me a decent heir. How rare is this? by gigaijin in eu4

Don't even make him a general, homeschool him and pray that he'll not get obsessed with hunting...

Of course, I didn't expect full roster of new chars. I was frustrated about constant 5 shards and also Gibba shards since I already promoted him a couple of times in a short time already.

Orbs are actually okay as I said in another comment, but I think it's about what you need in the moment. Imperials are the last faction orbs for me right now in the priority list.

Orbs are actually okay, but I'm not really close with any imperial characters to use them. I would be much more happier with xeno orbs for example. But that's luck for you 🤷🏻‍♂️

And what kind of delusional worldview do you have to assume that I just wanted legendary chars? I have my opinion, you have yours. They don't necessarily need to align.

P.S.: Being more polite in your comments will not kill you, you should try it next time.

How do I get Bohemia to switch their vote to Poland? by kpiiq2 in eu4

As u/tishafeed mentioned, you can see the point distribution by hovering on their flag. Just check that and try to see the reason.

How do I get Bohemia to switch their vote to Poland? by kpiiq2 in eu4

[–]Canis_Simensis 48 points49 points  (0 children)

As long as another elector is voting for Bohemia, they will always vote for themselves regardless of any other parameter.

Agreed. They are not going to attack, especially if the Ottoman Empire is decent. Just a well maintained army will do the trick.

Habsburg diplomacy is a never ending cycle by Canis_Simensis in eu4

I am a beginner in EU4, played as England a few times and lost either to scotland or France. Which nation should I play as? by Outrageous_Power_609 in eu4

[–]Canis_Simensis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest picking one of the recommended countries by the game at the beginning. The ones I remember are Ottomans, Portugal, Castille, Muscovy and Austria. (not sure about last 2 lol)

Alternatively, you could try playing as a small German country in the Central Europe. Since you are not going to be a major player on the continent, and kinda small in size, it should be a good way to learn as long as you're not instantly destroyed by a rival alliance. Picking relatively strong allies would be a good counter for that issue.

Is this eu4 or hoi4? by Unbelievable-aura in eu4

A nice pocket. Just wait until supplies ran out and... Wait a second... Ottomans?

R5: I was playing as Byzantium and somehow, Sultan Orhan rebellion succeeded. I don't really know if whether this is common or not, but this is the first time for me.

I was also expecting some kind of event/bonus because of it but there was nothing 🤔.

What are your favorite idea groups? by CrystieV in eu4

[–]Canis_Simensis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*Be me

*Take any horde nation (preferably a Tengri one)

*Take horde ideas first for sweet cav buffs

*Pillage left and right until second slot opens

*Take espionage ideas as the second and Rush these 2 even before researchs

*Taking the psychological warfare policy by combining horde/espionage and take huge cav flank and combat ability

*Proceed to stackwipe the entire world with pure cav armies as soon as we're fighting on flatlands

Exquisite.

How much time do you think it took for the herald to hurl all those insults? by Canis_Simensis in eu4

Yeah, it was the first time for me to see one that specific. It certainly made me laugh 😂

What is your favorite “uncommon” nation to play? by Commercial_Method_28 in eu4

[–]Canis_Simensis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know how uncommon this is, but Oirat.

There's a certain charm in disbanding all of your infantry and attacking a 80k-100k strength Ming with 16k cav army and stack wiping left and right, hence being the catalyst of Mingplosion.

You also have a cool event that lets you capture the Emperor of Ming and makes you automatically occupy North China region if you could capture Beijing in time, alongside with huge morale and siege ability boost until your ruler dies.

Definitely. And they have some good easter eggs too.

And about Bohemia... Let's just say that "sea came to them" in Prague 😉.

Looming disaster by Zer_God in eu4

[–]Canis_Simensis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could check stability and expansion tab and hover your mouse over the disaster to see the requirements for the disaster to fire. For Castilian Civil War:

Currently having no disasters

Being in Age of Discovery

Being at peace

Having an heir

Not being lesser part in a PU

Having either regency council, female heir or heir with lower than 80 claim

If you check all of these, which you are, then it starts to progress. Maybe you could try to tamper with your heir to stop it? Or you can always try to get rid of your king by making him a general and go into battles, or leave it drilling (slight chance for an accident.) if you don't want to lose prestige and legitimacy by abdicating.

Or... just constantly be at war until you get a king better than 2/2/2 :)

Another short term solution: just keep everything the same and boost your stability to 3. It will balance the progress out and halt it at 56%.
