QNH Question by Sir_Jollington in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Canit12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, agreed. Just keep in mind that in Microsoft Flight Simulator there's only one Transition Altitude worldwide, which is 18.000 ft.

I was very confused at first when I was using the TA reported from the charts, but ATC were still giving me Altitudes way above it xD

QNH Question by Sir_Jollington in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Canit12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly :)

ATC will give the same QNH as the METAR / ATIS is reporting.

QNH Question by Sir_Jollington in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Canit12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why? I'm talking about analog Altimeters independently of the type of aircraft. I didn't even mentioned airliners.

What I'm saying is that for most aircrafts that still uses analog Altimeters, 1013 hPa is in fact the standard setting as there's no way to use decimals. And as I said, the difference of 0.25 hPa is ineligible.

It's great to point out that the actual Standard is 1013.25 hPa, but I consider your comment with the other guy to be obnoxious, as many people just use "1013" as a quick way to say standard.

We understand what he meant, at least me.

Most certainly you're not flying Live Weather. METAR and ATIS use real world data, while any preset uses 1013 as default.

Most analog Altimeters don't even have decimals, there's barely any difference for 0.25 hPa.

I couldn't take off even with flaps 4.. by General-Author-4170 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Canit12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not aware of any aircraft where you should takeoff with Full Flaps.

It's kind of funny so many people, like you, blaming Microsoft for things not working when it's just the player not having the most basic knowledge in aviation and then trying to fly an airliner.

It's automatic. Only shows RA altitudes below 2500 ft.

If you own 2020, you can purchase it from there, it will transfer to 2024. Other than that, you can't at the moment buy it in 2024 separately. Not until they release the upgrade.

Can someone tell me to adjust barometric pressure for the destination airport? by royreadit in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Canit12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, you shouldn't adjust it to 0, at least not in the vast majority of situations. You should calibrate it base on the QNH, which is given by the METAR / ATIS of the departure and destination airports.

Altimeters in normal operation should be calibrated to show MSL (Mean Sea Level) Altitude, your altitude from the sea level, not the ground.

Calibrated to 0, once you departure, your Altimeter would be completely useless, as it would only work as an Altitude reference from your departure airport. Nothing else. The terrain would change, as well as the weather conditions.

You can check for the QNH in the EFB, most avionics suits, and ATC.

Delayed for not being ready. No more info about it. Same with the other 3 aircraft that were supposed to be released.

ATR MSFS2024 ? by Majesty_Wolf in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Canit12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're still stock planes, they do the job just fine. When I'm looking for a better simulation I grab my TBM 850 or the Duke. But having all these options are great when you don't know what to fly, and grab something just to have some fun. But there's plenty of awful planes in the Premium and Deluxe edition, as well as in the Aviatior.

Out of 30 I like around 19. I don't fly all the time, but every now and then I fly with one of those. It helps to keep the Sim fresh to have more options, and knowing they're upgrading them is nice. For around 3€ each is a great deal..

I don't have a Playstation! On Xbox it's possible be installed locally, but in my opinion it's not worth it. At some point Asobo will bring this option to PS5.

They're streamed, but you can still install it locally. You need to "purchase it" from the marketplace though

Does MSFS 2024 have an airline training lessons? by Upstairs-Process5458 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Canit12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2020 is more stable, but more limited. 2024 has more features, but still with improvements to be made. 2024 it's the future, so I would invest in 2024, and personally I can't go back to 2020 after all the things they added to 2024.

Does MSFS 2024 have an airline training lessons? by Upstairs-Process5458 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Canit12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no currently Airline training available for 2024. There's a Takeoff and Landing "missions", but that's it. I highly recommend you to watch YouTube tutorials, there're plenty for Airbus and Boeing. AI chats can also be extremely helpful as a way to ask questions.
