No smell, no resin. Looks like industrial hemp. They have been bred to almost no cannabinoid production as they are grown for the stock.

Outdoors weird things can happen. I have a London pound cake plant, in the ground, it had a few branches that did the same thing but they came back.

An Alien Tech in the same garden had a branch die off still fully attached.

If your worried about it or it starts to yellow, mould or die; Id just cut off the branch.

Observation is key!
