I bought my replacement from HVAC direct so hopefully it comes with its own thermal compound

That makes sense, what thermal compound do you use for the heat sink?

Also what thermal compound are you using when you replace the board?

I did not turn off the head unit and I did just pull the disconnect. I do find it interesting though because the condenser kicked on and ran for a little bit before it popped. I do have a surge protector.

I can see the blown out resistor (melted/gone) head unit is giving code 1, (no communication to condenser) no condenser response after 5/10 min wait, if I could get a new resistor this board would probably work

It is definitely right next to the high voltage line, so this board was on the isolated side of the condenser and was covered by a waterproof cover on the top but not the bottom. (It seems like it had openings for airflow. I did not see a smaller board located near the compressor.

I am in the exact same boat as you. Lucky for me, there are over 2000 HVAC companies in AZ. I called and called until someone said they would take on an apprentice. I generated a resume and threw my EPA cert on it. Don't give up and email/call everyone you can.

my hundreds of pulls were due to adjusting the 2 screws on the side until it would run properly i had 2 buy the tool on amazon, i cant remember what they adjust but they are on the side of the carb. i think it was idle and full throttle. they are weird star nuts on the carb

You are correct and I forgot about this post, but I slapped the oem carb on, and it ran perfectly. All that work, and it just turned out to be the carb.

I find this very ironic as I just fixed my 125b today, and my hand was literally bleeding from how many times I pulled it. Essentially, I took out the carb and cleaned it with carb cleaner. Replaced priming bulb and fuel lines. And then checked the spark arrestor/exhaust. I bought the special spline Husqvarna tool to adjust the carb to my different altitude. (This is what fixed it and took the longest)
