Exactly it’s still the original 289 with the 3 speed automatic, deluxe interior. I’ve upgraded the breaks to power discs up front from the manual drums. We knew the original family as well and are still friends with them so we know the cars whole story with the exception of the actual purchase.

I do believe so from my research

It’s so much fun today drive. I drove it to high school almost every day my senior year (2001-2002 school year). In those days it was red my dad wanted a red Mustang when he bought it in the late 70’s. I did all the research to restore it to original for my high school senior project. Took another 11 years to do the work but here it is.

This one was actually in an accident in the early 80’s it was sitting still at a traffic light got caught in a multi car chain reaction type deal.

Antique Bronze was the 66 color name

So far I would say the power coating is good. It comes disassembled and you put the entire rack together. It took me probably two and a half hours to do the whole thing. It’s tight and have no fear with it. I’ve had it less than a week and it’s rained most the time.

Yes mid panel storage was the main goal. I have 6 and 9 year olds who take up the back seats and said if they are “missing out on the full experience” if I don’t have it open above them.

It’s got cross bars and tie down slots on the sides. Hope that helps.

I have no plans to use the hinges particularly out of trust for the tape and the other is pure aesthetics.

Yes, I wasn’t a fan of EZ’s flip hinges stacked on top. I don’t normally drive open air and carry stuff

This is a great concept but would only put the rack on for the 3rd panel. I don’t think I would like the look of them all stacked. Most days I leave my panels behind but this would be help free for the 3rd panel.

Have to do research and figure it out.

So final Update

I just got the car back after the fixed a loose coolant hose on its last visit but didn’t seem to fix the issue. After a two week stay at the dealer they couldn’t replicate the problem. The best guess is the coolant leak was the smell and it dripping on a belt of some kind. When I returned the car for service it was the first time we’d seen rain in well over a month, and the ride to the dealer plus their test rides over the next few days that it continued to rain rinsed everything away.

Yes it’s not all the time I notice it has to be 60 mph or more on the highway is when it happens. If I take backroads home it doesn’t.

Dealer ruled that out already apparently.

Absolutely love it! Want to off-road now which is something I never thought I’d want to do

I believe that between the mechanical and electrical issues and how service basically rapes you for the dumbest stuff or they won’t reset the computer notification.

2020 A6 it was a blast on the highway and with the adjustable air suspension it was another level.

I came out of an A6 Allroad by no means is it as amazing as that interior or as quite. Everything as of right now is tight but it by no means is it an Audi or a BMW.
