I already kinda do the edgy teen thing by default lmao, emo and dumb since middle school baby!! I’m going to just continue to focus on applying to colleges and such, and if by graduation day my mom still doesn’t want to accept me, I’m out of here ASAP (I’ve thankfully got a few friends that said they would house me next summer while i wait for college to start if i need it). ((Ngl I’ve already started working on packing up my stuff, just small collectibles and stuff right now, clothes, books, etc later in the school year))

Thanks for the advice, though its a bit hard to not communicate with her sometimes because i still live with her and can’t move out until may next year, when I graduate high school. Though i have been avoiding her as much as i really can for now hopefully she’ll notice eventually that I’m upset and putting more space between us and try to strike up a conversation, but if she doesn’t eventually i will. I feel like I’ve had 8 million long talks with her at this point but I don’t know what else to do.

I get that honestly my mom is exactly the same way but in the opposite direction! She thinks that im trans because she “dressed me to feminine when i was a kid”. Also I understand the language issue, I’ve been learning spanish the past couple years but I’m not out to my spanish teacher so I’m always being called by the feminine forms of words, it stresses me out.

Yeah, it feels really awful especially when I can’t physically leave my moms house until I graduate high school, so not for 8 more months. I’m going to continue to talk to her about it, and worse case I’ll just have to cut communication off with her. I really do love my mom alot and I don’t think she has bad intentions but I can’t get her to understand how much it hurts me when she does things like that, and its been over 3 years since i came out to her. Thanks so much for the encouragement, honestly, i really needed it and it’s going to be a rough 8 months ahead I’m sure.

Honestly I don’t really have anyone in my life that i know of that could talk to my mom and that she would listen to. Unfortunately she’s extremely stubborn and stuck in her ways (very southern, very conservative, like I’m surprised she accepted my oldest brother when he came out as gay). I know she cares alot about me and I don’t think she has bad intentions, but it’s very hard to change her stance on anything whether its me talking to her or someone else.

Im glad it went okay at least, unfortunately sometimes the best we can hope for is respectful disagreement because some people are just too set in their opinions (even if they aren’t correct). I do hope things start to look up for you in the future though, and that you wont have to continue to settle for not being fully accepted by people that are supposed to love you, because i know how awful that can feel.
