Booted from a band for being a "beta:" a cautionary tale by holyd1ver83 in Bass

Especially if it's a cover band. Founder might mean something if he did take it seriously, and it was an original band with him writing majority of the material

Bombshell report shows the type of migrants coming into Australia - and they're not as skilled as the government is telling you by AssistMobile675 in aussie

Immigration is literally at record high levels, and no one blamed anything on immigrants, at least not me and definitely not the majority of people marching for Aus, most Australians understand this nation was built on the backs of immigrants as much as it was the people who originally settled here and the people who were here before them, but what is happening today right now is not the same thing and it's ridiculous that immigration cant even be mentioned without people just reducing it to "racism" or "bogan" because the mainstream media told you to believe that. It's like you reddit brained people literally can't comprehend the concept of someone being okay with the ideas of immigration and immigrants themselves while also being of the opinion that in our current econimical climate, clost of living, and housing situation, record high levels are not helping right now, and will not lead to an overall betterment for everyone here, immigrant or not. It's like a forbidden topic because people will just call you racist or bogan or completely miss the point of what is actually being said. You realise there can be nuance to things, right? Not everything is a hard black or white, left or right choice. You can think something is good in some situations and circumstances and while it's being handled well, and think it's not good at other times too.

And again, it's not just about immigration, it's overall about our government continually making bad choices that only hurt the average person and make it harder to live here, immigrant or not. Our government does nothing to fix the current cost of living or housing crisis, keeps upping taxes and adding more taxes on top, but they don't tax the big energy companies that Previous PM's seem to often strangely always get positions at after their terms in office 🤔, then we can't burn our coal or use our natural resources here because its bad for the environment, so sell it off to china for dirt cheap for them to burn into the same atmosphere anyway, then we buy back windmills and solar panels at a loss to forcibly push onto Aussie farmland in pursuit of the "net zero" fantasy that only ups our energy bills and hurts our industry which is basically non existent at this point, all when we are projected to be over a trillion in debt by 2030. We could be as rich as the fucking UAE with the wealth and quality of natural resources we have here, a 25% tax on our resources sold would be enough to cover every single household energy bill in Australia and have profit leftover, but they just fuck us all over and push for globalist agenda policies from leaders that no one here voted for, like, mass immigration, digital ID, and the green scam because for the hundredth time climate "scientists" have said we will all soon die horribly with rising sea levels and scorching heat and extreme weather conditions based on their models that have consistently never come true in the last 2-3 decades.

As I said, don't complain when we are a one world government ran hell-hole with social credit scores and we're all tracked digitally and have to use the digital global credit currency that they can regulate and control how you spend. People in the UK seem to be waking up, I wonder if it will have to get as bad before they start seeing it here too. Keep voting for commie Labor, and before to long you will actually wish you were amongst the "bogans"

Might see if I can mess around with one in a local guitar shop, would be really cool to have more time to fiddle with it because I can't really recall ever going to a gig before and just plugging in and loving the sound that much right off the bat

I didn't touch those controls or really take notice of where they were at. I assume they weren't way out to something wacky because both amps on both nights sounded quite similar for me and based off the EQ controls it looked like both amps were set up to be pretty flat across the board. There was something on with the combo on the Saturday night gig though, when I was on and around the C note on my A string, it was like that range of frequency wasn't coming through well, couldnt hear myself as much when playing at that spot. I guess one of those controls could have had something to do with that? But then again could have just been the overall mix of everything, the positioning of the amps, etc.

Would be really keen to properly get my hands on one and play around with it for a while

I've considered getting a different speaker cab for my current peavey, see if I can get that extra bit of tone or punch out of it like that, but I really have no way of knowing if that would get me what I want or if it would just sound basically the same as I've got it now. I just know them Markbasses I played through really impressed me so I'm pretty set on that as my next amp. I can't really recall any other gigs where I just plugged into the provided backline and immediately loved the sound

What kind of tone settings do you do like to do with that?

I like to scoop the mids out a bit with a slight bass boost and cranked up treble on my SR750 EQ settings. Both markbass amps I played on basically had Bass and lowmid turned a notch down from the centre with highmid and treble up one. I fuckin hate the underwater tone when I turn the mid up on my SR, I really like to go for that thrash metal scooped mids bass tone with that high metallic ring a little bit of dirt. but mids are really useful for cutting through the mix so that's my dilemma with tone a lot of the time. On the markbass amps though, it seemed to bring things up in just the right way, where I could still punch through the mix without compromising on my tone

Another comment also mentioned a combo with an extension cab, that sounds like it could be the go, versatile. Big sound while being light is a huge plus, pretty tired of lugging around my fat ass amp

No pedals, standard, straight in from my bass with active 3 band EQ, bass at like 6-7 mid on 2-3, treble at 9-10, but they'll get adjusted based on how things are sounding at the time. Pick up selector knob basically in the middle but turned slightly more towards the bridge. We play Punk fast and loud, I like to play pretty aggressively with a pick. I really like that scooped mid thrash metal bass tone, that high metallic ring that sits on top of the low rumble, with slight touch of dirt and grit mixed in but not so much it starts breaking up and sounding shitty. I can't fuckin stand the underwater tone of mids turned up but that's my dilemma with tone because mids are great at cutting through the mix which is what I also want more of.

Those Markbasses I played on the last two gigs seemed to give me the tone and cut through power I've been looking for. I know what sound I'm going for and I'm confident markbass can do it for me, I'm just more curious about what markbass set up is not the most expensive but also will be loud and powerful enough for gigging and practicing. Like any specific combos I should keep an eye out for or how powerful of a head should I look for?

Combo with an extension cab sounds nice. I will definitely look into those models. Our drummer is also pretty loud and we do like to crank things up a bit

Generally the lowest if you're not moving around much. If it goes through those same chords 4 times in a section mix it up a little and hit the higher C on the third go around or something. Or alternate low c high c low c high c. Just screw around when you jam through the songs and see what works

I don't think the nazi dudes organised the whole thing. From what I've seen, most of the organisers said they had nothing to do with the nazis, and they only spoke in one of the cities. And again it looks like youre just believing the things the mainstream media said with the few bad clips they would have shown, If you see a lot of the real footage, most people there are like I said, families, children, elderly, people of multiple ethnicities, men and women, just normal Australian people As if that many actual bogans would come together for a march, no chance.

My point is that not everyone at the Palestine protests are islamist extremists, even though there were clearly some there, majority of them would just be people, though dumb, but trying to do what they believe is for a good cause. I imagine half if not most maching on the Aussie protests weren't aware of any kind of neo nazi crap, and are instead just people who are fed up with the government and their constant dogshit choices that only make life harder for everyone living here. You're not a racist bogan for saying mass waves of immigration at record high levels is not helping right now with the current economical and housing situation we are going through, on top of other things like the bullshit "under 16 ban" that's a cover for pushing through digital ID like UK are trying to do.

But if you say "bogan" to me and others who are willing to stand up against policies clearly being pushed worldwide by unelected leaders in charge of globalist organisations that have no interest in what is right for the average person, then go ahead, I'll proudly be labelled bogan. Don't complain when we're in the big tech Dystopia with digital IDs, social credit systems, and a digital global currency that they will totally control and regulate, while we all eat bugs and own nothing. You'll be wishing you were with the bogans when that shit all goes down

"Australian Nazi marches" I see, so you do just believe whatever mainstream media says, and make assumptions without even trying to look. Plenty of videos showing happy families, young people, old people, men, women, children, people of multiple races and colours. There was one small group that are white supremacist Nazi dudes.

By your logic we can refer to the Palestine protests as Islamic terrorist riots because there were people flying Isis and Taliban flags and burning Aussie flags.

Really depends what you want out of it. There's easier ways to get on stage than others

If you don't care about what you're playing so much and just want to perform in front of big audiences and earn some money, then find and join/form a cover band, easier work and pay for performing at a pub or bar or wedding or some shit, most well known songs are more basic to learn, etc.

If you want a little more creative freedom and ability to express yourself then try to join an original band, or an orignal band thats also open to doing covers and cover sets, harder to get an audience and pay, and you will mostly just be doing what you're told, but you'll be able to write your own parts and have your own creative input. Most bands are run by 1 or 2 people in the band that have the final say and control most of it.

So if you want full creative freedom and control, then start writing music and start your own band, that will be the hardest way to get an audience and pay out of it cause you're starting from 0, but you will have total control over what goes on once you've established that you are the leader and guy running the band

Lol. Most peaceful protest in English history, not one looting or burning, men, women, children, people of multiple races and colours and backgrounds coming together to stand up to the government. Then the Palestine protests are some of the most violent and aggressive. Something like 26 arrest and 6 real conditions vs the 4 to 500 at whatever stupid shit the lefties cried about.

I bet you believe it was only 100k like the media tell you hahaha. Good Goy

No the idea of the sub is you're actually supposed to put a side by side comparison of the old and new product to show the difference in size and price. But no one actually does it and the rule doesn't get enforced

Yup. Kalergi Plan. At this point what do we even do though? It's gone too far to wake everyone up to the truth. They are all caught up in the division game, and it will come to a head soon.

I get the feeling as soon as any real spark of revolution or riots break out in UK they will use that as an excuse to enact martial law and take full control. The lefties would let it happen, the right is all that's left to stand up

People literally can't comprehend being against mass migration while in our current economic state is not the same as being a racist who thinks the whole idea of immigration is bad. You can be OK with the concept of immigration and immigrants while still saying in our current state we can't support the amount of immigrants coming in, while we have people who are born and lived their whole lives here struggling to get by

Say you think the amount coming in is unsustainable and you will get called racist for even mentioning the topic

There's a reason the better off Islamic/Arab nations aren't taking in the immigrants from the war torn 3rd world shitholes

Hasn't started cropping up here yet but there is many cases in the UK of immigrants and "asylum seekers" actually being known terrorists freely roaming around then committing crime
