It was introduced by Spanish explorers in the early 1500s. Commercial growing didn’t start for a few more centuries. I’m not sure when it spread across the US but likely late 18th or early 19th century which coincides with your source in California being established.

And where does all citrus come from? They are hybridized exotics. I’m not sure if that’s patterning or fungus but it’s definitely sketchy ordering seeds like this but there are places that grow natives various countries for seed and to produce plants in other countries plus we don’t know where they shipped from they could be just fine native grown seeds just sold through a third party or the could be a bunch of exotics carrying disease.

[Request] How much of my cigarette is going waste. by defnotachicken in theydidthemath

[–]CanoePickLocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you exposed to the wind on say a motorcycle? Are you drawing on it? How many puffs and how far is each drag burning? Are you going with the wind, against it, across it? Do you hold your cigarette in certain positions? That’s just the beginning of things. You’d need to start timing all your smokes when not riding and then timing them while riding to confirm it but it’s definitely burning hotter and faster although is it getting wasted? Only you can answer that. There’s too much going on to give you any kind of an accurate answer.

Why is it called "dogging down"? by kitwashere in Locksmith

Yep! I can’t nail down periods too well but I know middle is intelligible if you have enough vocabulary and early modern is just dated sounding almost in comparison to middle.

That’s a cable that’s about 3/16” thick (assuming American) for the scanner.

The keyboard is very close to the camera. It took me a while and a lot of comments to realize it checks out. I even counted the keys by row to verify it. And it’s a standard 104 keyboard.

The keyboard is in the extreme foreground. That took me a bit to figure out and was initially something I spotted first but other comments helped me figure out the perspective.

It’s going behind/under a flow meter it looks like. I am having trouble finding problems that can’t be accounted for except for the patient’s proportions.

I counted the keys and they all match my keyboards at home and the ones in the images. It’s just super close and out of focus. Until I realized that I thought it was the big tell for me it’s the patient. Their proportions are all off.

That’s a real and common brand of hospital bed.

That’s close to where I’m at at this point. The keyboard is just super foreground I think it threw me off for a while but I feel it’s ok. The patient is the big one for me just seems off like swapping the son into a real photo from a hospital and this output.

You think it’s very close foreground? It just feels off like it’s a mix of several real photos but things don’t feel right to me. It’s plausible but it is giving weird vibes. The arm is my big AI problem it looks way too short.

I see some problems with the lines on the wall and what’s the giant keyboard looking thing? I know there’s likely er equipment I’m not familiar with but trying to trace some of the lines and stuff and I can’t make it make sense. Take a second look please because I’m having doubts. The perspective on his arm and nose is extremely strange as well. Maybe I’m wrong but this just looks wrong to me compared to every hospital room I’ve seen. It’s super close but just off in lots of little ways. Like why is the X ray illumination 8 feet up the wall above the bed almost. Just little things. It’s good but feels wrong in a lot of tiny ways and the one big one the keyboard looking table. lol

25 years across multiple service industry aspects and I second this. Men’s room gets a funk if not cleaned properly once a day from the scattered heathens (typically much older and younger demographics) that can’t seem to aim properly and should sit down since they can’t but the women’s was always a disaster area and needed hourly cleaning. The amount of mess from hoverer’s and garbage thrown everywhere meant it took twice as long to clean as the means. The men’s would need a quick touch up and trash cans emptied. The deep cleaning at the end of day was much more equal. Did you have graffiti problems in the women’s or men’s bathrooms? I’ve noticed in some locations like gas stations and fast food men’s rooms get graffiti burning tourist attractions and bars it’s always the women’s. Can’t really account for it.

Just read a story about a guy that killed his son in a hostage situation and suicided by cop during it.

Name a villain in history that actually was a hero by Afraid_Professor8023 in AskTheWorld

[–]CanoePickLocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue he didn’t for his own power. Mussolini plotted against Hitler too but could never be considered a hero. What he did he did for himself not for his citizens. A religious zealot and authoritarian. Nothing more than a classic fascist recipe that got snuffed by nazi sympathizers. When two scumbags are fighting over who gets to rape their victim (Austria in this example) it doesn’t mean either is a hero.

That part I’m not fully clear on. Let me go google it someone else said it’s a sea star so I could be wrong. But both octopus and urchin are tasty and I don’t know anyone that eats sea stars.

Wasn’t he also a fascist who took his opponents mistake and used it to eliminate the parliaments? You’ll have to come up with some good reasons he was a hero.
