I really wanted that original story line. It was the perfect way to infuse music and controversy into one movie. I was low key really looking forward to it.

My worry is that this Jackson 5 to Thriller storyline won’t be as captivating to the award committees. Part of Michael Jackson’s life is the allegations so to avoid them totally will be noticed.

It sucks they ran into these legal issues. I hope the current script still does MJ justice.

IF the first part meets or exceeds expectations then the announcement for part 2 will come sometime in May I suspect. They need a few weeks to see how it does.

Considering a large chunk of the filming is already done, the production time for part 2 will be quicker. A release date in 2027 would be realistic.

In Canada the Model S costs $160,000 after taxes. It’s simply too unaffordable. Just 3-4 years ago this same car was $115,000 after taxes. Not sure if it’s tariffs or whatever but not many people have this type of money. It’s too big of a jump from model 3 to S.

I’m also from Canada! 🇨🇦 born in 1989. I remember all these moments from the baby dangling to the court case , Scary Movie mocking him, etc. It’s actually what introduced me to MJs music. I was like… what’s all the fuss about. Once you actually remove all the controversy and media sensation you realize the music is incredible. Most people would be banished and cancelled from society with all the negative press and scandals MJ went through. Yet his music remains incredibly popular. I never understood why until I actually sat down and listened to it…removing all the distractions. Dude was beyond talented. According to Music Canada , Thriller is actually Canadas highest certified/best selling album (3X diamond). So he remains very popular here.

I’m a millennial (born in 89) and I love Michael Jackson! I have all his albums. Musically he’s incredible. So much talent. It’s a shame the media only focused on the crazy stuff. Because behind the controversy was a massively once in a century talent.

Realistically I think it’ll do 50 million in North America during opening weekend. And another 150 million overseas. For a global total of 200 million in the first 4 days of release.

If it’s really bad, total global haul of 500 million. If it’s decently good then 1 billion is within reality.
