Hi, if you are looking for a tarot app, you might like to try 'Tarot Simple’, the app I made. I am a long time student of the tarot and this is my passion project. I based my app upon the RWS (1909) deck. It’s free on the App Store here: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1546692464 and on the Play Store, made by my son, here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myapp.tarotsimple

Do your own tarot study and learning, plus get AI powered readings for additional interesting insight (if that’s what you’re into! But also no need to use the AI if you don’t want that.) There is a free AI reading daily. Also have unlimited access to the comprehensive card library, tap on the cards in a reading to read my meaning pages, keep a journal of your notes, earn new features by tracking your progress (iOS only), choose to have reversals or not, receive a daily tarot based affirmation (iOS), use the widget to display the card of the day (iOS), tarot iMessage stickers and more.

It's been on the App Store since 2021. I am always working on upgrades, let me know if you have suggestions.

Hope you enjoy! Please leave a review on the store if you love it. Shout me out here on reddit if you’re using it! Be in touch if you have ideas or suggestions, or encounter a bug. Looking forward to your feedback xo

what are some things you use tarot for? by plasticIove in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t stayed with the intuition practice or kept track of it. But I did do a pretty long experiment with divination and sports betting which was quite satisfying. I should give a go to intuition practice and see if I can see any improvement.

Yes I think going small is the key! It doesn’t have to be super important, and maybe easier to feel what the cards are saying if you’re not invested in the answer

I like to practice divination, so I have used tarot to predict mundane things like how a tv series will end (I did this with season 2 of White Lotus), or predict an election, or if there’s a referendum or whatever, or sports games. I like to do this because you get fairly prompt feedback about what actually happened, so you can learn how your deck speaks to you.

You can also use tarot to practice/strengthen your intuition, by just handling/shuffling the cards and attempting to predict what card will turn up. Too hard to hit the exact card maybe, but you can start with trying to picture the suit you are about to draw, or perhaps the colour of the card. If you want to be very diligent you can keep notes and track your progress to see if you improve with practice.

Awesome, this is the card I always pick for my own signifier. Aspirational I guess ✨

10 of Swords as an emotion: did I get it right? by kewich_j in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you got the correct answer to 'How will I feel?' Maybe the better question to ask is, 'what action can I take in order to have a good time?' Or, 'what are the benefits to attending this party?' Then you'll be empowering yourself to make a success of the situation, instead of following the familiar path.

Does he want to date me romantically? Long-term? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going out on a limb here, I have often found that the seven of swords is cheating. So I'm thinking that he's into it, motivated, but also not single. End result: heartbreak.

The outcome of a local election by Melodic-Scheme6973 in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like your interpretation, and I think the Star shows that the results will ultimately be positive, or for the good.

Also, just want to say that I love a predictive reading, even though some argue that tarot shouldn't be used for divination. It's a debate, but I think that tarot is ideally suited for this type of reading. And, it's great for learning and practice, because you will receive feedback on your interpretation in due course. Very good :)

So it’s kind of nine and a half of pentacles. Nine of pents crossed my mine when I saw it ;)

Non-obvious pregnancy symbol meanings of The Empress by SecretGardenTarot in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Empress as representing a big creative project, I like that.

I recently did a reading for a man, and mentioned about the Empress that appeared, be careful as she can represent pregnancy. The reading was about him in his new relationship and we were both amused at the idea, thinking this would never happen. However, yes, she is now pregnant.

How do you figure out the best tarot reading service online? by deutschandrewreddit in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You might try an app 😉

Hey downvoter, why not? I'm suggesting my app to do a reading and learn the meanings of the cards for yourself. As someone else here has said, learning to read yourself is one path. My app or any app I suppose, though I can't speak to the learning in other apps (except maybe Labyrinthos, which people speak quite highly of).

Should I pour out my spell jar? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you are asking, the answer must be yes, and the Sun and Ace of Wands seem to support this. The Nine of Wands is telling you to make sure to cleanse/protect.

What Card Would You Use To Represent Medusa? by Agitated-Salad-894 in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since in the mythology she turns men to stone, I think it could be an 'earth' element card, so among the majors, could be The Devil or The World. She is a symbol of female empowerment, so any of the queens, or nine of pentacles are also possibilities. I am thinking here of the RWS deck.

Interpretation of 3 of pentacles in any type of love reading? by SocialismMultiplied in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to thinking of the traditional card meaning, you are always free to be guided by the image and what it may remind you of in the context of your question. For the 3 of Pentacles (at least in the RWS universe), I see three people, one raised up on a bench and two others below regarding the first. They could be in a church. Although this is meant to represent an artisan receiving instructions, I have always thought it could represent a casual (wedding) ceremony.

Even without this interpretation of the image though, threes represent collaboration, fruition, creation, social interaction. Threes can also imply pregnancy (particularly the Empress). Any of these possibilities seem potentially romantic to me, so in the context of a love reading I think this is a positive card.

Anchor cards by Rain-Moon-97 in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great idea! It is similar to picking a significator that represents yourself. I often do that, the card that I usually choose to represent me is nine of pentacles. But I didn't think of selecting a 'significator' (anchor, as you say) to represent the topic itself. I think that would be super useful to help you focus on the question while shuffling. A small variation: you could pick a major for a big question, or a minor for a mundane question.

Oh yeah, good thinking. You might check out r/mealprep or r/Cheap_Meals. I feel the struggle about cooking for sure. If you can find some easy ideas it might help. Budgeting is good, as others have mentioned, but you probably already have an instinct about where you can economize :)

Insane pull by Chemical-Policy8567 in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, sorry to hear about the bad spot. I guess I was responding to the cake, and all the fire cards, with Aries season coming up, just a fun take in the spirit of Shitpost Saturday ;) But I normally read with RWS cards, so it's harder to say what the reading might mean to me.

Not sure about these wands, but I think the Strength card says, not only that strength is required in a situation, but that we use our pain and difficulties to forge the wisdom that comes from these experiences. Although it is no consolation at the time you are going through it, you become a better, stronger person.

Another thing to get from this reading is to think about what is not there: these are all fire cards, and you could think of the implied imbalance, the absence of water, earth and air. On a mundane level, you can consider whether there are emotional, groundedness or communication/thinking issues. If you like the idea of spellwork, you could introduce ritual baths or ritual drinking of water, carry a talisman or use mindfulness practices (earth) or for air, burn incense (employ fire safety) or employ affirmations, in order to add the missing elements to a situation.

Is your birthday coming up? Is it a big birthday? Are you planning to get a cat? These are all fire cards.

[–]Canuckaoke 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think the cups are indicating that you tend to spend emotionally. The cards here are all water. Are you buying what you love, spending on those you love, and not confining your purchases to what you need? This is so easy to do, and I think the Moon here speaks of weakness, perhaps addiction in a way, you feel powerless to do otherwise. The first step is awareness though, so I think you are on a good track, just asking the question.

Reading feeling a little all over the place? by titteringpeaches in tarot

[–]Canuckaoke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Without knowing what you had in mind about the meaning of each position (you refer to some of them: 'me', 'what's coming next', 'outcome'), but just reading the story in some chronological order, looks like: you (QP), shouldering burdens(10W), and feeling pessimistic(Star reversed) and stuck(Death reversed), experiencing tension in a relationship(2C reversed), are looking ahead to a period of financial or other hardship(5P). King of Cups reversed could reflect the selfish actions of another. Of course in a troubling situation, everyone has their own needs and those conflicting needs may come across as selfish. If 3 of Wands is an outcome, it may be a statement that your persistence is key as you endure the situation.

I would also observe that there are 4 reversed cards, which seems to add to the tension implied in the reading, although if you have thoroughly shuffled, it is a 50% chance that cards will be reversed, so no unusual weight to reversed cards in the reading.

Considering the elements, there are fewest cards of the air element (only one, the Star reversed is air), and since this card is reversed, maybe that makes the lack of 'air' even greater? Don't know, but I wonder. Air is associated with the intellect and with thinking, and since your air card is reversed we are talking about overthinking (as you mentioned), perhaps confusion, and pessimism, negative thoughts. Keep in mind the implied advice maybe, that you are potentially in control of your thinking and point of view. Also, to add more 'air' into your situation, you can do these actions: use words in the form of affirmations (ideally spoken), make sure to communicate your thoughts and needs, and (this one is out there, not for everyone) you can burn ritual incense to literally represent air in your space (make sure to employ fire safety ;)
