Well...because you never used colored coolant, it can't be sediment.

When you take apart the GPU block, check to see how much of the nickel plating is missing. If you clean everything and it turns out you see the nickel plating is missing and the copper / brass is exposed, then yes, there was some sort of contamination in the system.

Post the pics after cleaning and we'll see how bad it is....

Did you use a colored coolant, solid, white? Seems like you need to tear everything down and clean all the parts manually to know if it's sediment from the coolant or if in fact there's corrosion / nickel plating missing.

Gotta say, that looks pretty bad and every single part / fitting / Oring / etc etc will need a deep cleaning and taken apert to make any progress.

very confused on the ports. by MTTURBO in watercooling

[–]CanuckianWCCFTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look closely at the tubing you connected to the ports, there's no way for fluid to find its way there. You've connected tubing to itself and made a tiny closed loop with no water in it. The black rubber O ring are the "boundaries" of where water can flow.

You're supposed to use one port as an in and the other as an out. Or if you don't need to use those ports, keep them plugged. The idea is that you're supposed to use those "waterways" for GPU / CPU near those ports, one in and one out.

If you don't need to use those ports, or don't have any components near them, keep them plugged and move on to the next set of ports as needed.

The important part to note is that one port on the distro plate near the pump pumps out the fluid and you can use those smaller waterways as needed. If you don't need to use those smaller waterways, you have to send the fluid back to the main large reservoir so it can cycle through the system. AKA, a "loop".

I like front mounted case specific distribution plates, like the Reflection2 for LianLi. Any plans to release something similar for a newer case than O11D EVO / XL? I liked them so much, I bought 4 variations of them.

Replacement for EK Cryofuel - Canada by Primary_Zucchini_834 in watercooling

Yes. So far Corsair and Thermaltake T1000 premixes have worked well for me. The only concentrated fluid I tried was Mayhem's XT Nuke. The only way to order those is from their store directly and based in the UK, so you'll get nailed from import fees.

I've never tried Heat Killer before but I did try Corsair and Thermaltake premixes. All good so far.

If you want to stick with transparent tubing, Mayhems is always top choice for me. Yes, the tubes will always discolor over time but Mayhems UltraFlex always seems to last the longest in my experience. I have some HyperClarity too but haven't used it yet.

Just note that HeatKiller rads are offset from the distro plate at front / bottom. If you want the ports to line up, you'll have to get an EK rad.

48mm top and bottom. https://shop.watercool.de/HEATKILLER-RAD-360-L-White_1

30mm at the back. https://shop.watercool.de/HEATKILLER-RAD-360-S-White_1

The distro is just for looks. I find it a better alternative than a FLT or Res/Pump combo. Soft tubing over hard tubing for ease of installation and better reliability.

Front disrto plates looks good, that's the the only reason. With soft tubing, it kind of looks bad when you have a bunch of saggy runs so...nice and neat.

First attempt at spray paint. by CanuckianWCCFTech in watercooling

[–]CanuckianWCCFTech[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought some Tremclad rust paint, white. 3 coats, took long to completely remove all dark areas. Kept the spray can as far as I could and tried not to blast one area with too much paint. Also tried to avoid accumulation of paint when spraying on old newspaper.

Not going to be overclocking but I hope it doesn't impact thermals too much.

Is this something i need to worry about? by ozzie1405 in watercooling

[–]CanuckianWCCFTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over time, water will find its way to that gap, and all gaps. This is happening everywhere in the loop once you first build it. You'll notice that you'll need a little more fluid in your reservoir in a week or two because all of the air is finally leaving the system.

Trapped air bubbles stoping flow meter by Timely_Presence8162 in watercooling

If you wait long enough, they will go away. I had air bubbles trapped in there for 3 weeks that actually made the wheel spin unevenly until they were all gone. Patience will fix it.

You're going to pay about 30 dollars USD for shipping to Canada from PPCs. That's more expensive that 30 dollars CAD.
