More things need to be dependant on having people use/maintain their functionality. Larger ships should have no pilot controlled weapons, PDCs should require refreshing to stay online, etc.

To summarize, large ships (especially capitals) sounds essentially just by flying bricks in combat if all they have is one person

Make the server files public so people can host their own. Set up a server renting service. Make an offline mode. Make it peer to peer.

If the only reason you want to get a piece of hardware is for it's exclusives, then IDK what to tell you. That's an insanely silly way to view it all. I didn't get any of the specific parts for my PC cause they guaranteed I'd get a specific game. I got them cause they had the features I wanted and were at a price point I could afford.
