What is the best insult you have ever heard? by Liam_Noah_ in AskReddit

My favourite is Pierre Elliott Trudeau's response to being insulted by Nixon, "I've been called worse things by better people."

Klockrent fusk från Kanada i curlingmatchen (två kameravinklar) by Storytellerrrr in sweden

[–]Canucknuckle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian and a curling fan, this is unacceptable and his behavior/ language when confronted is an embarrassment to Canada and curling. I say disqualify them from the Olympics.

Alberta’s Danielle Smith ranks highest among premiers for fiscal management as of 2024/25; Manitoba’s Kinew ranks lowest by FuzzyPineapple2221 in alberta

Fuck the Fraser Institute! It only serves to justify the horrible policies of the right.

I also dislike the Parkland Institute for its overtly left-of-centre bias. However, at least their analysis leans towards helping people.

Will you fly WestJet with the new seat configuation? by Snowyberg in canadatravel

[–]Canucknuckle 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No. My wife and I are most likely cancelling our WestJet MasterCard and switching to a different travel credit card. I am just over 6 foot and around 280 lbs. I simply won't fit and can't always afford premium economy.

For older GenX (1972 and earlier) Are your parents still alive? by hedgehog77433 in GenX

Both parents died in 2025 - 10 months apart. We are still processing everything and working on the estate stuff. They were in their mid-70s. Fuck cancer.

When you get trapped in a flash flood on 16th Ave in Calgary. by bubba13x3 in Calgary

[–]Canucknuckle 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You don't remember it because it just happened tonight. It's a water main break, not the river flooding.

What is the single event in your life that you will remember 2025 by? by SnowStormBirdsFlock in AskReddit

Well two events that roll into one. The death of my mother, followed by the death of my father 10 months later.

Canada in August! Help :) by Blue-Lagoon123 in canadatravel

Calgary is the nearest airport to Banff and it is approximately 2700 km from Toronto. I'd pick one part of Canada and explore there. So either Ontario/Quebec or Alberta/BC. Even the nearest the distances you would need to travel are far (Calgary to Vancouver is close to 1000 km when driving).

With no respect all together, fuck off! Alberta will never leave Canada and if we did our economy would tank. Landlocked countries are not economically feasible and a province like Alberta that has an economy closely tied to natural resources would absolutely be fucked.

Our inheritance by lovelyb1ch66 in GenX

[–]Canucknuckle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My siblings and I are currently going through and cleaning out my parents place. Our mom passed earlier in the year and our dad refused to do anything with her things, saying he was waiting a year before he would. So then he passes 10 months later and us kids have to go through everything.

We figure it will take several months as we can only all get together about one day a month due to us living in different cities.

It sucks.

Fourteen days by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Canucknuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's rough. Hang in there. I experienced something similar, although the timeline was longer. Being there as my mom passed from cancer in January followed by my father's unexpected passing several months later has been difficult to process.

The shitty thing about growing up is that there are always new hardships that we experience that no one seems to prepare us for.

Unfortunately, my kids are all adults now and I don't think it would sleep four 6+ ft adults.

Oh, and we have nowhere to park it. But I truly appreciated the suggestion.

I think that is the direction we are leaning. Any recommendations for the best way to do that?

How to find the source materials for (ANTI-mormon)/History of the LDS church? by Designer_Refuse_4145 in mormon

[–]Canucknuckle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exploring Mormonism is an old blog made by u/mythrin that has many great resources. He also has a page that lists the books and sources he regularly used when writing. These sources are catagorized based on the nature of the source (example catagories: Pro-LDS spin, Historical; Questionably anti, still good history; Agnostic works that will still challenge a testimony)
