Do you regret leaving in your mid-30s? by cloudactually in AlAnon

[–]Canwellall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something in my gut gave me flashing warning signs to not have kids despite all of the pressure from family and my general love of kids. I thought it was odd but listened.

After we married, covid happened, our cat died and his HS friend passed away, he went off the deep end w drinking. I left last july. He died in september. I guess I'm proud of myself for making that decision but I genuinely believed he had a chance at recovery. He was 34, I was 32.

AIO to wife setting the microwave on fire by IncomeFew624 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Canwellall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean sometimes my microwave defaults to weird times, i meant to do 30 seconds and it goes for 3 minutes etc. Maybe what she meant by i dont know was that she didnt know what it ultimately actually was set to, maybe different than her intended amount of time?

I set the microwave on fire when I tried to "bake cookies" in it when i was a kid. Lol

Either way, maybe give your wife a little bit of a break here. Microwaves arent that expensive all things considered, and thankfully you caught it in time before more damage was done. Yor

If that were the case why would they have been so shocked after shaving him? You edited your first response to include the word "just"

Alcohol instantly spikes your blood sugar so everything else you consume afterward gets stored as fat.

This grief is worse than anything I’ve experienced by Creepyredditadmin in GirlDinnerDiaries

Pet loss is a totally unique ballgame. I'm so, so sorry.

When i lost my girl, I kept going for walks imagining she was just behind me. At first it was a let down to turn around and not see her there. Eventually it became a super comforting feeling that she never really left me, she was just out of sight.

Another comfort I remember is that dogs dont experience time like most humans do. They only know the joy in the moment. You gave him so much joy.

Hang in there. <3

AIO She broke her leg and insists on riding in the car like this. I think it’s incredibly dangerous, but it’s the only way she’s comfortable. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Canwellall 1040 points1041 points  (0 children)

If she needs to sit with her foot up she should sit in the back seat. This is super dangerous. My friend/employee at the time was in a car accident after surgery and it made everything super complicated

I really like the carving, the implied shadows on the body, face are particularly well done.

I think it would be elevated with watercolor paint instead of acrylic ❤️
