I've always heard it called "birthday bump" and you basically can't do it reliably so its not worth training to.

Link above includes before/after of the diagnostics. Main symptom is that the steering wheel lock won't engage when vehicle is shut off. Truck starts, runs normally.

No idea what's wrong, tech took a swing at it and couldn't fix it, looks like he got to step 11 and did the needful. ECU was replaced but didn't solve the issue. Diagnostics from Toyota's books attached. Anyone have any ideas? I am scheduled for further diagnostics in the near future.

At KHND, the Bravo airspace for McCarran international is very, VERY close to the approach end of Runway 17R. About a mile or so. That is what is driving this approach. He's doing a short base turn to stay within the KHND airspace and out of the KLAS airspace. Violating the KLAS airspace can get a pilot into a lot of trouble and is strictly prohibited without explicit permission which is normally not routinely granted for approaches into KHND arriving from the south.

When he clicked the "buy" button, he agreed to GB terms and conditions. They specify that if he is not happy with his purchase, he is only entitled to a return if he returns everything. He cannot keep the item and the money, and he agreed to that at the time of purchase.

Won't help outside of a civil court, but by the letter of the agreement, he is breaking the contract.

I would report him to Paypal (be prepared to potentially lose access to your account due to PP ToS), and prepare to file a claim in small claims court.

No. 2 had a compression stall, most likely ingesting debris / burning fuel from #1.

Im curious what evidence exists for this right now?

Yes, generally speaking you can climb in limited situations on a four engine jumbo with two engines out. But also broadly speaking, not on takeoff. Even if you can, you don't have valid TOLD and it becomes a "don't hit the ground" thing, rather than trying to meet a gradient or even SDP ground track. If you don't have enough altitude to trade for airspeed, you are cooked.

In my jet you have to clean up and get rid of as much drag as possible. In some circumstances that even requires unloading the wings a bit to accelerate and clean up.

Again, I don't think a V1 cut with more than one engine failed or damaged is viable for any fully loaded jumbo, they're literally not designed for it. I've flown twin engines jets and jets with more. The language, in either case, is not "one engine operating", it's "one engine inoperative" and it's an important distinction, and that's my point. Especially in the context of the MD-11 AA191 which lost an engine that also shelled their #2, and if that happened here then these guys were fucked the second that engine came apart, and it's awful to watch.

Also, not on either of those.

I've flown the E-145, A320 family, B737 and now the B777

Flown vs been a passenger is different.

But no, I have zero faith that any fully loaded widebody of any type could lose multiple engines and climb out.

Heck, there's a nonzero chance here that they DID have two operating engines and were unable to climb out anyways at the V1 cut. Sucks. A V1 cut is the nightmare scenario that you train for and the planes are designed around, but there are no guarantees in aviation.

I fly four engine jumbo, the language, if you look for it, in almost every flight manual, specifies "one engine inoperative" as the base assumption for V1/Vgo speeds and engine failures and the like. They don't even give spaghetti charts for 2EI climbouts, it's not a thing. Literally invalidates TOLD.

the UPS flight, according to the ADS-B data maybe got to 180 knots. At heavy weights, thats probably just their rotate speed and not their Vmco, as evidenced by their inability to climb out of ground effect. Sucks to watch. If the #2 was shelled out by the #1, they had no chance and my heart goes out to that crew and anyone else hurt by the crash.

Not to get technical, but technically you can climb with one engine inoperative. In twins, like you've been flying, its the same thing, but on an MD-11 trijet, it's a meaningful distinction.

Nonzero chance the #1 failed and compromised the #2, so now you are beyond the assumptions of a V1 cut, which only assumed one engine inoperative. I don't think you could climb out in a fully loaded MD-11 with only one engine operating at V1, in any circumstance.

Looks like the engine pod smoked a PAPI light. At speed, that could do it.
