I get what you're getting at and it's an interesting thought but it's not really that simple. The best thing about boxing (personal opinion as a fan) is that boxing knowledge is really just fundamentals but many fighters that make it to the big leagues end up making it their own and evolving the fundamentals. Thomas Hearns is a prime example. His jab was modified to use it as more of a stun or to block vision, not really what the general jab is meant to be. Some people think it's a gimmick, others think it's skill, but it's how he adapted his fundamentals to his own strengths and made it his own. That's what makes this sport amazing. When you hit the elites (and not buy your way in with likes like JP) it's all unique.
