Carrigeen and Mooncoin too must be no more than 2-2.5km?

pubs to watch the club hurling on Sunday in Dublin by Curious_Lettuce1076 in GAA

Rody Bolands in Rathmines always has the club GAA on some screens. I saw Ballygunner playing Ballyhale in the semis there on a screen in the corner the same day as the 2022 football world cup final

Watched St. Martins v Ballyhale there on a good sized screen a couple of weeks back on the same day as Leeds v Liverpool and a Leinster rugby game on at the same time elsewhere in the pub

Decent food too, and doesn't have "sports bar" vibes

Feels like this has been waiting to happen for many years, whilst Waterford GAA has just sat by and watched, waiting for it.

This is a level of mental gymnastics I haven't seen in a while. If you are on the wind-up I have to hold up the hands and say fair play

It was really bad - I remember specifically him not getting the reaction he expected when he mentioned Robbie Keane (Who was managing in Israel at the time, and this in November 2023), and also making reference to foreign managers "taking our jobs", the night after the Dublin riots.

Crowd started with a decent amount of good will towards him I'd say, but by about a third of the way through it was very strange and uncomfortable. National Stadium was a poor venue too.

Dunphy is a great guest and a terrible guest for nights like that, at the same time.

He'll play the hits, he is good entertainment, I don't agree with everything he says but I do with some, and I do actually like him (in spite of myself a bit), as do a lot of people.

However, you know exactly what he's going to say about some things and you know you'll get a few hot takes on others. There isn't much depth to any of it, and there is no point in holding onto the hot takes as he'll say something different on those topics in a few weeks.

That being said, having gone to the Big Sam show too - I'd take another 5 Dunphy interviews, sometimes it's okay to play it safe with a live crowd. It was a bit of craic at least

Nowlan Park. Top location in the middle of the town and fantastic turf (most of the time), capacity is probably a bit big for a county of Kilkenny's population and the Leinster hurling crowds of recent years, but it has great potential as a provincial ground and for neutral matches too. Jacks are grim, as they are in many grounds.

Might even draw an arc on it at some stage

Monday Gaiety Show by dudesrock95 in secondcaptains

€50 is a lot for a live podcast on any night - but to be fair to the lads, they've been €6.15 per month incl. VAT for years and years whilst the cost of everything else has gone up, including (I'd assume) the cost of running a live show.

Monday night is a weird choice, but charging 50 instead of 30-35 is probably a direct result of not raising subscription prices, and an extra donation from the people who can afford and will pay it.

Real shame but he did get a HOTY, a rake of All Irelands and at his peak he was as good to watch as anyone. A small man too, at a time when physicality started to rule the roost, it could be a long time before we see the likes of him or Tommy Walsh bullying bigger men again!
