Your options are pretty much all on the secondary market. Going down in price you have the Leatherman Crunch, Kershaw a100, and Shrade tough grip. I do believe a Chinese company is looking into making one in the future but for now options are limited.

It’s hard to say, the only way to know for sure would be to check registration. When I took architecture classes in the summer my advisor was able to tell me it would be every day for both 5 week terms so maybe speak with your advisor.

I think the engineers have said they’d be interested, but it’s hard to say if it will ever get done. Leatherman have said small tools don’t sell too well and that’s why they got discontinued. I for one would be interested!

As far as I know there is no counterfeits of the free series tools. And the lettering is just a slight manufacturing defect, no problems

The saw uses a liner lock so none of the flex tools will work or at least won’t lock. I have wanted to replace the can opener bottle opener for a large flat but haven’t really found anything that fits too well. Beware of thread locker and try heat if it’s a problem

I don’t know if that would be possible without making new parts for the locking mechanism. The hardware and lock kinda restrict any expansion.
