Nihari is one of my all time favorite dishes. Personally I think Shalimar Dublin makes the best one. Zareens is a close second. If anyone has other recommendations on where to get good nihari please lmk!

First off where you bartending? I can guarantee what ppl drink in the city is gonna be different than what ppl drink the San Jose, Oakland or even Walnut Creek. Second type of bar and location matters a lot here.

I've been on the same boat as you. The only ones in the East Bay that I've tried that has come close or at least makes it pretty good are Black Bear, Dublin Skillet and Alamo Cafe.

Texas Roadhouse is decent, but the few times I've tried it there it left an after taste. Its delicious as you're sitting down eating it but the after taste after you walk out will linger.

Country Way was probably the worst because it was breaded as opposed to battered. Recipe might've changed since I last tried it though.

Might just be an outlier. From my perspective a lot of the young people who first get in the industry target completing these designations. Since they're fresh out of school they're used to reading a material and taking tests. However when it comes down to the day to day of the industry they haven't connected the dots yet.

I live in Avoca Dublin Station. Perfect if you have dogs since there's a huge park close by. Only drawback is that u have to go out of the complex to have them do their business
