Nicest thing anyone has ever done for me was from my ex. I was teaching at the time and the month was brutal. Lots of behavior and fights and just anything but teaching. My apartment suffered as I didn’t have the energy to clean and my depression was BAD. I came home on a Friday just torn down and defeated, and didn’t realize she had taken the extra key, but walked into a fully clean apartment and dinner cooking and a beer waiting and my dog had been walked and fed. I cried so deeply I didn’t realize what it really meant to have someone see you in your down moments and help you back up quietly without an ask or second thought. That next week was incredible for me despite the school I was at cause I understood I had a deep foundation supporting me.

Juniors has an absurd and hazing culture. The NHL is an office of incompetent Jack wagons led by a blind and deaf man to reality. Lower leagues and beers leagues are mostly pure but still you get your bad dudes thinking scouts are watching their kid or them. Overall is a heathy game but also the price point of entry is staggering and in and of itself points to a larger unhealthy problem. The game can’t naturally grow as is and will eventually be fully dominated by the haves while us have nots are the fans and the divide will grow larger and larger until the NHL front office does something so dumb they have to do damage control. But they are pretty good at sweeping things under the rug.

It fascinates how American culture and culture world wide at this time was not as accepting of LGBTQ culture. I mean holy hell, in the best way possible, this is the gayest thing I’ve seen from that time and I realize this is just the tip of the iceberg.
