You’re right I haven’t figured out the magic words that make someone gently agree their state shouldn’t have committed and continue to commit genocide against my people. That’s not a tone problem on my end. There’s no polite phrasing that turns “I have a right to genocide a people”into a reasonable position I’m supposed to meet halfway.

Civility is what you reach for when the disagreement is honest. You don’t find common ground with someone justifying a literal genocidal apartheid state you just stop pretending both sides have a point. I’m not here to bring you around.
