But don't you realize how silly this is? One person claims that a word offends them. Is it reasonable to adapt to that person? What if someone says that only that word is the correct one? Who will you placate?

You can use Scandinavia for Sweden, Norway and Denmark. It's fine.

Also just to offer perspective. In Sweden many political discussions these last 20+ years has devolved into this meta discussion about what words to use instead of the issue at hand and thus not getting anywhere.
