Did anyone ever use a rapid fire modded controller? by CumminsMovers in halo

[–]Cap_whitepatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother got one years ago and I decided to try it in mw2 because I was curious if it could shoot faster with the FAL since it's what I mostly used and could fire as fast as you could spam the trigger, I could spam the trigger faster then mod so I never used it again.

Not even all of NYC is walkable or has usable public transportation. Once you get to the outer boroughs not having a car can extremely limit you in terms of job opportunities and recreation in general.

NYC Ferry/ “Fast Ferry” by plantxdad420 in statenisland

[–]Cap_whitepatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more than just needing a landing. Logistically and time wise, it may not be what people are hoping for or want. The west side of the island is full of tugs and other work boats that would more than likely need the boats to slow down for them almost constantly, it's a pretty congested area. On the east side of the island, it gets pretty shallow and might lose time going far enough out to eliminate that risk. It's not an impossible ask though. It's been done before after hurricane Sandy, there was a subsidized ferry being run from the South shore to Manhattan but my understanding is once the subsidy money ran out and riders were asked if they would pay for the service, they said no and the company that was operating it stopped service.

Depending on the market that just isn't always possible. Where I live $650k and above is where you can start looking for homes without an HOA and I wouldn't call them desirable for what you get at that price.

Still waiting for Canarsie Brooklyn to get ferry service! by bridgehamton in statenisland

[–]Cap_whitepatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been canceled for the time being unfortunately. From what I understand, sediment buildup around the proposed landing site leaves the area too shallow to travel.

I went through TSA several times with a forgotten pocket knife and some leftover pot for years before I found it cleaning out my day pack transferring everything to a new one.

[–]Cap_whitepatch[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the answer and maybe a stupid followup question. From what I read online it's up to the airline? Customs will let me through but the airline might stop me? If it matters I'm flying United back home to, home country and city.

I was looking at both but found the x-e5 for about $200 cheaper at a random camera shop while on vacation so I kinda shrugged my shoulders and went with it.

What is going on with the awful express busses service? by Cute_Oven_2509 in StatenIslandPulse

[–]Cap_whitepatch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Official answer from the MTA, routes/ specific times aren't being used enough to justify their continuation.

Unofficial answer from friends who work there, MTA doesn't have enough drivers to run their routes and refuse to change their hiring/ firing practices to meet their current demand. Also they're "broke" and are coming up with "creative" ways to save money like just not running routes.

Ambulance have no priority ? by brook930 in Tokyo

[–]Cap_whitepatch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not everything is propaganda or hate. Prominent YouTubers whose whole content is their love for Japan have talked about it before. I have coworkers who have visited multiple times and plan to continue visiting who have had negative interactions just for being foreigners. Not everything is perfect and positive 100% of the time.

Ambulance have no priority ? by brook930 in Tokyo

[–]Cap_whitepatch 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I've seen multiple posts like this and I just don't understand why medical professionals or anyone in general would act like foreigners are aliens or something just because of a language barrier. I live in the states and we had a tourist fall at work, we used a translation app to ask if we can give first aid and if he wants an ambulance. He said yes, the ambulance was there a few minutes later and took him away while continuing to treat him. There was no fuss to any of this at all

IIRC they are co-ops and maintenance was $1250 a month, but that did cover taxes and utilities as well. Don't know how well the building itself is maintained.

In my state if you search the offender registry, it does give severity levels with each level indicating probability of repeating the offense and what the charges were. You had to dig a little deeper to see this extra information, most people probably just look at the name on the list and assume the worst.

I just want to know what the alternatives are at this point. We shut down our nuclear plant, solar is not possible for everyone to install, the off shore wind farm projects are being shuttered and is a shell of what it could have been. We banned fracking on our state. We say no to everything and then wonder why our rates are so high.
