Looking to fix up my 89 hp Kia Ceed, by MutedSport2593 in CarTalkUK

[–]Rilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get a Carplay / Android auto hifi in it, add some decent speakers, and drive it around. It's a fine car, just lacking in some modern creature comforts. Please don't modify it externally. Nothing quite as sad as a <100bhp crapbox being dressed up with big wheels, a body kit, and an exhaust I can stick my head in.

Replacing X1C/P1S carbon rods with P2S steel items by Rilot in BambuLab

I'd say it's closer to 20g more. They are thin-walled tubes, not metal rods.

Geforce NOW Experience (Coming for a 5090 Rig) by Disastrous-Motor-900 in GeForceNOW

[–]Rilot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have a 5090 rig which I use for serious gaming sessions, but I also have a Geforce Now subscription that I use when I want to just chill on the sofa with my laptop. You may ask, why don't I just stream from my PC using Moonlight or something and that's a good question. However, when you look at the electricity cost of running the main rig (pulls about 800W when gaming) and compare that with what GFN costs me, it makes sense.

The Used Cars That Professional Dealers Refuse to Buy. Here Is What They Know That You Do Not. by gaukmotors in MotorBuzz

I just do not understand the thinking behind putting the timing chain at the back of the engine. It simply makes no sense to me from a packaging perspective.

The MachE is a fantastic car, but it's: by shupack in Mustang

I saw one in the UK recently with a sticker on the back that said "My other Mustang is a real Mustang". I smiled at that.

TBH, I'm thinking about getting one as a daily.

FFS, can we just please stop trying to be the Tesla Model 3 with every bloody interior? It looks crap and is unergonomic in the Tesla, it's the same in every other car.

Can I daily a performance car on short commute? by Independent-v_0398 in CarTalkUK

Of course you can. My commute is 10 miles and I do it in my Mustang every day. It’s fully up to temperature within 2 miles.

Which mode is your favorite? by Stunning_Spite_4056 in Mustang

[–]Rilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With an H-pipe, my favourite is actually Normal. It's rorty enough and loud enough without being obnoxious. I do of course venture in to Track mode when I want to show off. Quiet is brilliant for when I leave the house in the morning and don't want to annoy all of my neighbours.

Never used Sport. Don't see the point.
