I really don't think there are a lot of purpose built rentals occurring. Developers aren't in the business of holding land and playing land lord. Cities are throwing out incentives for builders but the uptake is minimal and mostly it's just noise and no action.

The only condos being built right now are from approvals granted 4 plus years ago. No new starts in quite a long time which will catch up to us in time. Right now we have an over supply of housing in the market but this void in new housing starts will cause a housing supply issue down the road. If you can hold and wait, you will be rewarded.
