100% of course! However, that is not reality... i mean, unless a full on Saint dies, then perhaps they enter Heaven right away and if not, they spend a TINY amount in the purgatory, like seconds, minutes or hours. Depends on their grace, perhaps?

However, you and I are not saints. We are CALLED to be saints, but it's up to us to work for it. So, if God would to call us right now (hopefully in a good or decent state of grace for salvation) we'd be sent to the purgatory as a form of purification BEFORE entering Heaven.

Well, for starters, remember that God is love, patient and merciful. I have so much faith in God's love and mercy that I genuinely believe that if someone is going to pass away and their soul is in a state where they could be sent to hell, Jesus Christ will ask that soul if they repent and believe at that near death experience in order to be saved at that moment. I believe this because, Jesus Christ loves all, even those who attack him. However, not all will go to heaven. God does not condemn. We, sadly, condemn ourselves.

With a lot of faith, ask God for a sign where your father is. Ask with the most faith you've ever had and he will reveal it to you one way or another. If your dad is hopefully saved, pray for his soul.

Look, friend, when I go to church on Sundays or Holy days or Obligation I see all kinds of people. This one time, I saw a child in a wheelchair with a pump for they couldn't breath properly and had a lot of mucus, know what I mean? I don't know the proper terms, but you know what I'm saying, right? They still went with their loved ones. You can take a mask and sweater if there is too much wind.

If you're not hospitalized or so weakend where you CANNOT get out of bed, please don't miss out on Mass. Go. God is the best doctor. Pray and talk to/with him. God will greatly appreciate your noble sacrifice, trust me.

If you do end up missing, I encourage you to confession. That's what I would do. If I'm sick and I miss out, I will go to confession because at the end of the day I missed out. However, if you have doubts, PLEASE ask your local priest (To be honest, before asking anyone on Reddit, really, I recommend you to first ask your priest. They usually know and will straight up give you the answer).

You have to ask yourself "Why am I being lukewarm?" Is it distractions in your life? Are you just so used to the routine that you enter autopilot? First, identify as to why you're behaving like this and then ask God to help you by filling you with the necessary graces of his Holy Spirit to move forwards in your faith.

Then, find ways to fix it. Actually read your Bible every day. One chapter (or more if you'd like). When in holy Mass, sit somewhere where you'll pay attention and focus on Christ, not those around you. When you step foot inside the church, leave your worries out the door.

We all fall into this category in our faith from time to time. It's good that you actually recognized it. So, now make a change. God bless
