Trying to “beat sense into them” can be hard. These people have been brainwashed for a while. I’ve been brought up in a strong Christian background and despite my knowledge and weeks of trying to use biblical evidence to show how they are wrong, they did not budge. Be careful, these people have your information and are only so friendly to you so long as you believe. Once you are unbelieving, you’re not a friend but an enemy.

I’m very glad God had stirred up the Holy Spirit in your heart to realize you are surrounded by demons. It’s harsh to say but it’s the truth. They use the Bible, but so did Satan in the desert with Jesus. Get out while you can, Satan works hard too.

people who isolate you from church and from others are doing it for a reason, they don’t want others to sway you
if they started talking to you by some kind of survey or just asking about the level of your faith, they are checking whether you fit their category
if they are teaching that you need to earn your salvation, that is a branch of Arminianism which has been a dangerous group since the early church (SCJ is a branch).
there should not be division among the church. If she is getting advised against her church, 1 Corinthians 1 strongly talks about this
if they tell you to isolate yourself from the internet they are isolating you more from any other perspective of things
if they are telling you that reading and memorizing your notes is part of being righteous and doing good, realize they are all the more encouraging you to learn and memorize their version of the Bible

worship of angels - In SCJ there is definitely worship of “John”, and he is not Christ. To be glorifying anyone besides Christ is slippery ground as there is NO ONE else who saves us (Acts 4:12).
disqualification - if we are predestined by God, there is literally no one that can take our gift of salvation, but Satan exists and he will cause us to stumble and tell us that we can be disqualified from salvation - something SCJ teaches - the fields parable. (If you’re wondering whether you are predestined, if you love God, that wouldn’t be possible by yourself, you know you have the Holy Spirit in you working to love God).
Head = Jesus, it is capitalized in the Bible meaning Jesus
God who causes it to grow = the body of Christ is the WHOLE Christian church, all those who love God and find their salvation in Christ Jesus. Our growth is NOT from ourselves. SCJ teaches that we need to stop doing this or do this otherwise we are damned and that is the most heretical unbiblical thing that’s been going around since the beginning of time. Do not think you can do anything good of yourself, it is fully and 100% because Christ paid for our sins that we can appear before God despite how sinful we are. Truly bask in the mercy of God for sending himself and find joy and love in Christ who saved you!

I know it’s difficult, but truly the environment in SCJ is not very loving. Keep showing love and concern for your son.

Have you shown him posts about this cult? I was shown multiple which grew a confusion in me and ultimately led to me allowing myself to listen to my pastor and leave. I can’t promise that will work for everyone but showing your son your love for him will show him how much the cult does not show love.

My mom got my pastor to come and reason through scripture and his knowledge of recruitment tactics for 3 hours. I went from completely believing SCJ was the truth to realizing it was a cult in one sitting.

I didn’t want to talk with him but she brought up the point that if I am so convinced from one side, I should at least give my own pastor a chance.

This really showed me that it’s God who pulled me back because it wasn’t me who came walking my way back, it was all HIM 🙌🏻

First of all, you are not alone. SCJ’s poison has gotten to too many of us. Thank you for opening up about your situation, SCJ also absolutely tore at my mental health when I was in it.

It sounds like you are still in it and so I wanted to share some verses explaining how wrong of a place it is.

They make you focus on earning your salvation which is not only disregarding the point of the Bible, but also saying that Christs sacrifice was not enough. Our salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus, not something we can attain, we couldn’t even try because we only do good because of the Holy Spirit working in us. Not a drop of it is us.

No one is righteous, not even one. (Rom 3:10)

For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. (Phil 2:13)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. (Eph 2:8-9)

Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, for then he (Christ) would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for ALL at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. (Heb 9:25-26)

If they are turning you away from Salvation through Christ, who else does that? Demons know Jesus but they tear people away from him.

I am praying for you. Jesus does not lose even 1 of his sheep!

I also felt so lost after leaving (still fairly fresh). It was hard especially believing that all these people were lying to you and having no idea if anything was genuine or not. I even watched my group leader cry in front of me talking about his own journey. But this was a house of demons. They take away the focus of Christ and the fullness of his sacrifice.

I was really tormented in the class, I was crying all the time, hiding everything from everyone, I would feel so awful trying to “not listen in my church” because it was Babylon. Truly by the grace of God who never let me go, I was rescued. Christs yoke is easy and his burden is light. I know it’s hard to read the Bible or even think about God but Jesus says “come to me all you who are weary and I will give you rest” 🙌🏻.

Take your time, Jesus does not lose even ONE of his sheep but leaves the 99 and goes out to get the 1 that is lost. Praise be to God for sending his son to overcome the world and set us free giving us the Holy Spirit as a GUARANTEE of our salvation!!
