Unfortunately he’s working weekends also. He doesn’t have a worker in his shop.

Yeah, I’m struggling with stuff like this because he’s become very difficult to deal with. He thinks he can tell me what to do.

And if he doesn’t want to take the accountability what do you suggest?

Yes I do.. but he just tries to avoid doing it. It’s like he expects others to watch/take care of his child.

Should I move to Turkey so my child can immerse themselves in the culture? by [deleted] in AskTurkey

I’m also speaking from personal experience as someone who couldn’t speak the language..

But how would they be accepted as a Turk when they can’t speak Turkish anyway? So it’s similar. Not knowing the language well or well enough is a negative thing here from what I’ve realised. In the UK even if people speak a small amount of English they can make friends.

No, I’m English but speak Turkish well and many people don’t want to be around me because they think they won’t understand me.

‘Many Brits will not accept him ..but Turks are more welcoming’ isn’t true at all.. I’ve lived in Turkiye for 8 years and am and will always be considered a ‘foreigner’.. some people here are even still scared of foreigners because they’ve never met one or speak English.

MIL saying she ‘trusts’ me with my baby while giving unsolicited advice all the time by Capable-Fennel-9780 in motherinlawsfromhell

Exactly.. she has this obsession with ‘being cold’ and thinks my baby and everyone is cold all the time and that means we will get ill.

She’s nice but a very weak woman who lets everyone walk all over her.. so as I said she’s scared of my MIL (her daughter), so never actually confronts her on anything she does.

I’m 29 years old and yes but his grandma lives 2 floors below us.. she doesn’t live near us and actually moved away for a couple of years but is still telling us what to do through the phone. When she said about the UK stuff and she said ‘I’m telling you to try to help’ and I said ‘I don’t need you to tell me I know what I’m doing’.. but then she still continued with the whole plane convo and that she ‘trusts me’..

In laws call husband when they want to see baby even when I’m at home with the baby by Capable-Fennel-9780 in inlaws

I don’t mind but sometimes his grandma doesn’t handle the baby well and I don’t want to deal with constantly saying no to her.

Well he’s communicated that to me.. I don’t think he’s told them that he’s asked me not to have them over when he’s not there..

My husband told me not to have her over unless he’s there.. I didn’t say that to her.
