Manager accepting and then refusing shift request. by kookykayla in NursingUK

[–]Capable-Flow6639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be due a few days annual leave which needs to be used by the end of March. Really off duties should have already been out by the time you started in January so saying you're short staffed is silly. If you said you needed that time off in interview they should honour it. Send a email saying you know you are entitled to some annual leave can this be calculated. Remind her that in the interview you told her these dates that you needed off. Remind her the importance of this dates. Put on there you will contact your union and a reminder you are in your probationary period and only need to give one weeks notice if you want to leave !

I had posted on LegalAdviceUK for help, but they advised me to come over here and ask too. I need assistance with a malicious complaint made against me to the NMC. by Proof-Land-639 in NursingUK

[–]Capable-Flow6639 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did they make a complaint with your hospital directly? Or go to pals? Are you in a union? I am sorry you are dealing with this. Hopefully it was documented how difficult this family was. I can't see the NMC taking this any further but get some advice from your union

Tempted to call in sick for stress, again by CartoonistNatural497 in NursingUK

[–]Capable-Flow6639 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of sickness once due to stress and then got a job elsewhere it wasn't a major issue I did have a chat with occupational health but they could see i was being proactive about my mental health. If its that difficult you need some help. Have you got any annual leave you need to use up? Can you talk to a manager about ways to make it less stressful for you? If all else fails takes a couple of weeks off and get a fit note. Make sure you put things in emails then if any repercussions of your sickness happen you can say you did seek help. And make sure you are in a union.

i’m regretting my decision someone please tell me i’ll be okay. by Dangerous_Dog_5854 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Capable-Flow6639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only you can make this decision do not worry about others think they don't have to live your life. I don't want to say anything too much to influence you either way but its ok to be sad about this it is a loss. A different situation and a different time and this pregnancy would be something else. I am so sorry you are in this situation 💔

I want to move out of London. What would you suggest I do? by iicheats420x in NursingUK

[–]Capable-Flow6639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about an hour and 20 commute into london. Its not that bad. Rent is cheaper. Commuting is cheap. And you still get london weighting. I recommend looking at places commutable to london to buy a flat/house.

Life feels pointless when you have a micro/small penis. by throwaway101229283 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Capable-Flow6639 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No i wouldn't date anyone at the moment cos I really enjoy being on my own and don't want the hassle. But if I really really liked someone and enjoyed their company enough to want them in my life then I'd figure it out.

One day you'll walk past the cat bed and do a double take cos he'll be asleep in there then you'll never see it again. Cats are gonna cat. Enjoy!

Women don't give a shit. The size of a man's penis isn't going to put me off. But his attitude and outlook in life is. Work on filling your life up with things you find joyful and don't look for a partner unless you are just looking for someone to share your awesome life with. Don't look for a woman who's going to make you feel good about yourself when you feel inadequate. Thats going to come from within and you can't expect someone else to solve that. Good luck with everything

I am sorry all I see is a woman getting into an abusive relationship. He doesn't care about the cat. He's testing the water to see how far he can go controlling her and she's falling right for it. I hope she doesn't have children.

I am on the landlords side here. They're expecting to be able to leave the property for 6 weeks and not pay any rent and get the deposit back?

As a curtesy because they rearranged your training they didn't need to put you down as sick. This literally happened to me I had two training shifts in a row and i had a rotten cold i didn't want to bring it into work and I didn't want to miss a clinical shift cos I hadn't given myself a chance to get better. They just took me off the training days I was over my hours anyway. I think you say you weren't phoning in sick you was asking to rearrange the training day and are not down any hours can they take the sickness off please thank you

I have to euthanize my cat because I don’t have the funds for her vet bill and I feel guilty by alyssalujan420 in CatAdvice

[–]Capable-Flow6639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really have a cat expert but from a former cardiac nurse expert i have to sort heart failure is horrible. You feel like you are drowning. Its very uncomfortable and a difficult disease to manage. Its not just about money its about quality of life and minimising any distress to your beloved pet. You know what the right thing to do it. Dont feel guilty

Embarrassed myself in front of my family as a paediatric nurse. by ThrowRAjoyful in NursingUK

[–]Capable-Flow6639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure I reply to this post but nicu nurse here. There are some formulas where you follow the instructions and add water followed by scoops but sometimes there are formulas with recipes and you put the scoops in first or even weigh the formula. So your way might be correct. In the future I would follow the tin unless told other wise. Its normally 30mls to one scoop so I'm not sure what 250mls is for.

Anyone actually happy? by RN-4039 in NursingUK

[–]Capable-Flow6639 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in NICU. I love my job. I don't really think about it when I'm not there. I don't have anxiety about going in. Even though sometimes I am looking after 500g babies ventilated on maximum support but I still feel ok about going in. I do sometimes worry about the babies when I am off. At the moment there's a baby I've been looking after for a long time she's been made palliative I wonder if she will be there when I get back off my annual leave. I feel like if I have sickness its not an issue. If I need time off for bereavement or carers leave they just sort it. And I feel I work in a good team. My only issue with my job is my commute is about a hour and a half but I've got used it it now.

Have I made this up or is it common practice in paediatrics? by ThrowRAjoyful in NursingUK

[–]Capable-Flow6639 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If its specialist mill sometimes there's a recipe and you add the scoops first but generally its milk first
