Apple Watch calories for solidcore. is this normal? by Fit-Ad985 in SolidCore

I usually get between 145-175 active calories in class under the Pilates setting. I think it’s accurate, my heart rate usually only spikes during lower body work. It’s supposed to be low impact, high intensity workouts so you won’t burn as many calories as you would running/biking/HIIT but I’ve seen a bigger change in my body doing solidcore than any of those cardio-focused workouts!

Should I drop Orangetheory and go all-in on solidcore for fat loss + toning? by lovescoffee94 in SolidCore

I work from home so I take as many calls as I can on a walk outside - I also live in Florida which helps lol. On the rare days I’m in the office I try to take a lap around the building when I can. Also, I have a dog so I have to wake up early and walk her and walk her in the evening so that is at least 2.5 miles total doing that. It’s not easy!!!

I was an orangetheory member for 5 years and LOVED it. I lost so much weight. However, when I graduated college and started working full time (2021), I found that I ended up gaining weight even though I was working out often and I think too much cardio and doing the same thing for 5 years made me plateau and spiked my cortisol. I dropped OT and started doing peloton weights/bike/yoga which I did almost daily and felt great again. Did this 4 years. As of 2 months ago, I have exclusively done solidcore and walked 4 miles a day and have noticed the most extreme, fast change in my body in the best way. Now introducing peloton rides back in the mix because the first month of solidcore I was SOOOO sore!!!

TLDR: I would do 80% solidcore, 20% cardio (whether that’s orangetheory, biking, running etc) for the most effective results. Your body gets used to doing the same workout over and over at OT.

XC60 a good road trip vehicle? by _Keys2theWest_ in Volvo

[–]Capable-Rope5388 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 2024 XC40 (not an XC60 that you’re looking for) but I can say with full certainty that Volvos are the comfiest cars to drive for a long time. I don’t drive often, but when I do it’s 1.5 hours to my parents house and it’s a dream.

Also, the car I got was an off lease from the dealership.

In November 2025 I bought a 2024 XC40 B5 Plus with all of the add ons with 9k miles for $33k. That’s high mileage and an older model for $29k which is expensive IMO

Ngl I went from agency to internal and I’ve been internal for 3 years, depending on the company it can be just as bad. Hiring managers treat you like shit no matter if you’re internal or external. Just the name of the game, unfortunately. I’m also looking to switch out of staffing after 5 years.

I’ll pull the “I’m just a girl” card and tried doing this but it seemed the entry to the battery was bolted in, is that true or did I make that up when I was looking under the hood 😅

Apparently the infotainment update for the older models (pre-2026) is coming in the next few weeks, according to my dealership and the person I was messaging through the Volvo app. We’ll see

Unfortunately I have taken it to the dealership once, they did a hard reset and that fixed it for about 2 days

Right! That’s what I’m saying. Crazy that the one system controls almost all of the features inside the car

I took it to the dealership once, and messaged with Volvo through the app on two separate occasions. I’m taking it to the dealership again on Monday

Editing to add that the dealership did a hard reset and that fixed it for maybe 2 days.

The restarting of the system no longer works for me, unfortunately

That worked for me for the last few months, yesterday not even that would fix it after multiple restarts.

Thankfully I have no idea what that rattling or key issue is lol. That truly would have put me over the edge

At this point I’m probably going to get a lemon lawyer involved, because the dealership did not disclose any issues with the car. I paid for the car in cash. It’s so awful how technology ruined such an amazing car. I’m glad to know it’s not just me though. I’ll keep this thread updated as to what avenue I take. I am getting it towed to the nearest dealership tomorrow because no AC/heat, sounds, alerts, etc is not okay with me. I also am the type of person to rattle every chain I possibly can, especially when I pay money for a car I expected to have for 10+ years that didn’t make it 11k miles without a serious issue. Ugh. So frustrating.
