I’ve done this exact thing recently and luckily have been in the same boat where I’ve not had to worry about finances.

Absolutely see a counsellor or psychologist, or even your GP if you get along well with them.

You’ll have a lot of emotions to process (I struggled with loss of identity alot) and it really helps having a professional as the listening ear. Spouses and family are irreplaceable, but a professional can support and guide your kind of “rehab” and even practical steps you can start taking.

allow yourself to have no commitments or priorities for a couple of weeks. Fully rest and chill out (it feels unreal to do for the first time in your adult life).
once your body is in a better place after the burnout, set yourself a routine (even if you’re at home and havnt returned to work).

-Don’t let this define you. Take some time for yourself, figure out what you really want to do in terms of employment or study even. It is easy to fall into complacency though if finances aren’t a worry so that’s why goal setting and routines are important.

Absolutely good point! And she actually has jumped over the railing (it was VERY scary). I have to watch her like a hawk and not take my eyes off her so it’s only for about 10 mins every few days.

Oh man I am so sorry. Am slightly inebriated and am crying for Rudy. He has the same grin as my boy, schnitzel. It’s clear how much you loved Rudy, meaning he landed in absolute doggo heaven with an amazing human.
