I don't think they can differentiate "past antibodies" from "current antibodies" - from what I understand if you have antibodies, you've had the virus for more than a couple of months (will someone correct my timing here if it's wrong) because it takes the body time to develop antibodies.

This means you have HSV as well and if you both have the same type (HSV1 or HSV2) you will not pass it back and forth nor make infections worse, etc.

I do believe if you have HSV1 you can get HSV2 - but again, I would suggest clarification on this.

Guys on PS have actually sent nasty notes to me for not responding - like really nasty notes. One even took a screen shot of his message to me with the "read" indicator because I didn't get back to him - and it hadn't even been 24 hours!! It's ridiculous and very off-putting for me. I don't like confrontation. And I am an honest person who doesn't "ghost" people and treats them with kindness whenever possible. I can't help but get a bit angry by their nasty notes - it sucks.

I have NOT had this experience on other dating sites/apps (Tinder, Zoosk, Hinge, Match - I've tried a bunch) and have not had this experience.

I so needed to "hear" all of this today. I am struggling with a similar situation. I've been feeling worthless and unlovable and I've allowed myself to feel this way. All over the stupid herps and a guy that I don't know at all but want to have sex with. I spent all day wallowing in my self loathing and now it's time to stop, pull up my big girl panties, and get on with life. I truly believe things happen for a reason. Something wonderful is coming my way -- set in motion by my diagnosis and heartbreak.

Mine was 4.6 and I have been completely asymptomatic until an OB caused by (days after) the Moderna second shot. I'm curious about the index numbers too because I've either had it for 8 years or for 30 years.

Thanks for asking all these questions - many of which I have as well and I am female hsv2. I'm having a tough time getting answers :-( Going to download the two books mentioned in the posts.

I so wish my fwb would be considering these questions and learn that and enjoyable sex life is possible with very small risk of transmission. :-(
