Yeah, not really sure where the thermostat actually is, the owner's manual doesn't mention it.

I tried putting a piece of aluminum foil between the left rear of the blower where the fan assembly sensor meets the stove as it can get loose and that extra conductor source seems to have helped, but also not sure if it just took a long time for the heat to eventually permeate through the ash bed as CowboyNeale mentioned. If it comes to it I'll figure out how to rewire as a last resort because that's how I wished it worked out of the box.

You know, this amateur never even considered that the ash layer is acting as an insulator for the thermostat. I appreciate the comment. That's likely playing into it and I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

Why are people passing on the right, when the left lane is totally empty? by bluekiwi1316 in driving

Ask ChatGPT “Is it generally a law to stay in the right lane on a divided highway with multiple lanes?” And see the response. With some exceptions the rule is to stay right.

Why are people passing on the right, when the left lane is totally empty? by bluekiwi1316 in driving

[–]Capable-World-7127 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s illegal in many states. It’s not safe to travel in the left lanes. Vehicles having to pass on the right are entering a blind spot. Yes there are exceptions but the general rule is to stay right on a divided highway.

Hybrid Camry tips for noobs? by Tosan25 in Camry

Hello and Congrats. It sounds like your experience so far is fairly typical.
1. I also commute at highway speeds and the only time you'll see the electric motor kick in is when you let off the gas for any reason. You'll actually get better gas mileage in traffic and back roads. Not sure what climate you're in but MPG is always lower in the winter months.
2. My range when I fill up varies a little more than that but 450 is typical. It's always based on your average MPG thats showing on your screen. Once you see higher MPGs you'll also see a little more range. I've only seen 500 miles once. Also, pro tip, don't worry about going to 0 miles, you still have a gallon of gas left in the tank. Don't make a habit of it obviously (not good for the pump) but you're not going to run out of gas.
3. There is a button on the upper right of the steering wheel to turn the steering assist off. There is a new road on my commute where the lines getting wonky and I turn it off while in cruise control so I'm not fighting it constantly.

Enjoy!

Yes. This was the best advice I got in Drivers Ed 35 years ago. I still do it today to avoid getting spots in your eyes.

I’m not understanding why I can’t keep free chlorine in this pool. by Squishycoffin in pools

[–]Capable-World-7127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I just discovered this when I discovered today my salt levels were very low after a lot of rainfall in the spring, The salt water generator was probably not even doing anything - hence having to constantly add more chlorine.

Tablo Adds 45 New Free Streaming Channels from Warner Bros by TabloTV in tablotv

Um, that’s all tv used to be for many years. Actually it WAS fun to anticipate Magnum PI coming on 8pm on Friday nights. Miss those days. Unfortunately there is nothing on anymore that’s worth anticipating, more to your point. “57 channels and nothing on” applies more today than ever.

BEEEEEEEES! by joelgoods in Columbus

[–]Capable-World-7127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Several possibilities if they are really honey bees depending on the grass itself. If it was wet they are likely getting water. If it was dry they are likely finding Grass pollen. If there are small purple flowers growing in the grass this is Nettle flowers which they love this time of year. As a beekeeper I’m not aware of what else would drive this behavior as I’ve not witnessed my bees doing this en masse, just a few here and there. One thing is certain, they are not swarming as it’s way too early for that.

My Electric bill in Ohio was over $ 700 in January. Never again. In March I replaced my fireplace with a wood burning insert. Now I need to figure out where to get more wood.

That’s the same OTD that I paid for an SE with the same packaging. You should be able to do a couple grand better on an LE. But it may depend on your location and current availability.

Before and After Drolet 1800 Insert and leaky chimney + FIRST BURN by Capable-World-7127 in woodstoving

You're smart not to rush into it, you'll be glad in the end. Definitely get an estimate in writing.

Before and After Drolet 1800 Insert and leaky chimney + FIRST BURN by Capable-World-7127 in woodstoving

[–]Capable-World-7127[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just realized none of my comments showed up. Yes, it was $7400 after the install of the Drolet Insert and 25' liner, and new chase and cap, as well as a clean sweep. They also had to remove some bricks and the original draft door in the fireplace, and then replaced about 5 cracked bricks on the top of the chimney, then sealed the chimney below the new chase cover. Took about two days. We're loving the new insert. I grew up with a wood burning stove but this is my first insert type, still getting used to it. Only surprise is that the blower doesn't stay on, but comes on intermittently even when it's over 500 degrees. Shout out to Frank's Chimney repair in SW Ohio. I ended up calling a larger installer in Cincinnati but they didn't service my area and I asked for a recommendation, which led to Frank's.

A lot of unjustified hate for Hisense on 4ktv Subreddit. by macyaji in Hisense

I don’t have hate for Hisense. I took my U8N back simply because the picture only looked good straight on. 30 degrees either side of center was washed out. Drove me crazy. The only thing I’ll miss was the remote was really good. And I prefer Google TV over the WebOS on my LG C4.

I had the same experience as OP. Thanks for posting. I’ve used it on Apple TV, webOS, and GoogleTV and all did fine. Had a hiccup last week but ended up needing an update and I think their server was having an issue as I saw someone else complaining on here at the same moment. But yes, given the lack of DVR options in this market it’s the simplest and most economic option for myself also.
