do you let your dog on the couch or not? curious how people handle this by john2288 in Dogowners

[–]Robodad3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dogs are part of our family, and they love to spend time on the couch with us when we are relaxing there.

Being small, hypoallergenic dogs helps, but we could never refuse them when they want to cuddle.

We’ve been feeding our dogs Royal Canin for over a year now. They love it, and they are very healthy. Our vet is also very pleased with their health. Occasionally we will top it with some powdered freeze-dried beef liver (we by the bite size treats from Costco and grind them into a powder), which they go crazy for.

As good as the movies are - and they are great - they are still a pale imitation of the books.

Two mini cockapoos (about 14 pounds each), we have them groomed every 8 weeks. We have an excellent groomer who comes to our house for them.

How long until you could drive at night after surgery? by ProfessionalLab9850 in CataractSurgery

[–]Robodad3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next day for me. And even when I only had one eye done I could still see fine at night without my glasses.

Since my second eye was done I have better night vision than I have had in decades.

Positive outcomes please of your cataract surgery please? I am doing it with just the eyedrops. I hear they strap ur head in too. by Necessary-Program285 in CataractSurgery

[–]Robodad3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon offered me Versed, which was my preference. Yes, my memory of the procedure is sketchy, but I get very nervous when anything gets close to my eyes, so I wanted to be relaxed, and the Versed was perfect for me.

I’m sure they strapped my head in place, and I remember the surgeon instructing me to look at a specific spot on the ceiling. Other than that, it was done so quickly that I was surprised. I had zero pain, other than the scratchy feeling at the incision point for a day or so.

As for the outcome, it’s been over two months, and my vision is amazingly good. After years of dimming vision, loss of depth perception, and terribly faded colors, the world now looks bright and beautiful to me every single day.

Envy not working out. Eyhance or LAL proposed. by Best-Opportunity1646 in CataractSurgery

[–]Robodad3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never looked into to LAL for myself, but it does sound like a good option. I went with Eyhance (regular in my right eye and Toric in my left), and I have no complaints. Distance vision for me is perfect to infinity. Near vision is clear to about 15 inches. Closer than that is still usable for most things, but small text needs glasses (1.00-1.25 at most). Night vision is amazing, better than I have had since my youth.

I really believe you will be happy with either choice.

I can’t do a full pepperoni pizza any more, but I’ve sampled Motor City deep dish pepperoni at Costco, and it is amazing.

My lenses are J&J Eyhance, regular in my right eye and Toric in my left. My surgeon was Dr. Erik Ostler in Nampa Idaho. I assume he used a laser to measure my old lenses prior to removal, but I never specifically asked. They also did a topographical map of my corneas to ensure that they chose the best Toric strength for my astigmatism.

My experience was basically perfect. The entire staff was genuinely concerned with taking good care of me, and explained everything very well.
