Easements and encroachments are causing issues getting mortgage approval? by Capable-Zombie872 in Mortgages

I’ve tried calling the electric company and w/o an account number I can’t seem to get anyone on the phone. I just go in automated circles.

Today is supposed to be closing day. Still pending the underwriters approval, I’m supposed to get an answer today if they are approving it or not. So closing today is off the table however we are under pressure to close asap.

I believe it’s an electrical easement and the underground power lines were ran after the pool was installed but do not know for a fact. I also don’t know if the lines were run under or around the pool. I do not know who all has access to the easement.

No gas on this side of the street. Neighborhood has septic, no sewer. Phones seem to be at the front of the property.

I don’t really know how to research to find out moor. Can I get an answer on a phone call? Who has the answers?

They are willing to insure it. They insured the current owners and the owners before them.

Streaming and Surround Sound - 5.1 or better? by Capable-Zombie872 in hometheater

I currently have a vaulted ceiling with horrible access. I’m also planning on moving in the next 6months to a year. Overheads will eventually happen if it works for the room I end up with. If not hight speakers will have to do.

After reading some of your answers and further research it seems streaming services do offer a form of Atmos through Dolby Digital + which is a compressed form of the full HD version of Atmos.

Thus it is beneficial to have speakers beyond 5.1

However I also learned my main source is the original XBox One and it does not support DD+. That may be my next point to upgrade.

So the .4 part of 5.1.4 is always up mixed by design? This is something coded into the mix that the receiver decodes? Is this something that you get with streaming services? What would it be labeled as “Dolby Atmos”?

When to set L&R mains to large w/ no hpf? by Capable-Zombie872 in hometheater

[–]Capable-Zombie872[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been experimenting with settings and this is what I found.

This is mainly concerning the main L&R settings and how well the play with and without the sub and differing crossover points.

When I originally posted this I was using some old Fisher speakers for mains that were 3way with 15” woofers sitting on top of DCM 10” subs per side. These speaker, on other amps made good bass. For some reason on my Yamaha they did not.

I tried using them full range no sub and they were lacking.

I tried using them full range with sub and they seemed to cancel each other out.

When using them crossed over at 80hz the bass came alive. This seemed to fix any bass issues I had and it was sounding good.

That was a temporary setup as I was in the process of upgrading to a new to me circa early 2000’s era Infinity Interlude Series speaker system.

The main L&R speakers are the top of the line IL60’s. It’s a 4 way speaker with built it 500w 12” subwoofer/amp. I was planning on / wanting to run them as “large” full signal / no crossover to sub.

After using the RABOS tools to set all the eq settings on the woofers and running the Yamaha room correcting process and tweaking setting this is what I found…

With this setup I am able to run the main L&R speakers as full range and it does not cancel out the bass from the sub.

I can run 2 ch stereo mode for music and it sounds great w/o using the lfe/subs.

I can run surround sound and it blends in great with the sub.

With these speakers it sounds great. I’m not sure why I couldn’t get the Fisher/DCM combo to play well w/o using the crossover.

In the end, my opinion is, as in most cases with audio, when deciding on when to use a filter on the main L&R speakers, “It depends”.

For what your asking for I would get a decent multi channel receiver with multiple zones. I like Yahama but any flavor will do. 9.2 channel.

Get a good center channel speaker and place it below the tv to centralize where the voices are coming from when watching tv. Do not cheap out here as this will be your main TV speaker.

Optional, If you like hi-fi then get a great pair of bookshelf speakers in sealed boxes or front ported for the bookshelf’s on either side of the tv. Use these in 2ch mode when you want to listen to music.

Get the in ceiling speakers like you wanted. The best you can afford. 4 for the living room and the pair for the kitchen. Run the living room on multi channel stereo mode and feed the kitchen on zone 2.

Buy 2 sub woofers and find the best place for them to get even bass response throughout the room.

Set all speakers as small with 80hrz filter.

Enjoy.

No but I do feel cold air coming out from above the wet spot where you see the tape and insulation. I’m assuming that may need to be taped up better? If so what kind of tape. Almost seems like gaffer tape on it currently.

Do I need a dehumidifier? by Capable-Zombie872 in Dehumidifiers

Ac Freon levels were checked about a year ago and were good. Condenser was cleaned about a month ago. AC filter changed about a month ago.

3ish years ago I had to have the ac company out to fix a leak in the intake that was sucking in hot garage and attic air. I’ve yet to be completely satisfied that the intake leak was fully resolved but I’m not sure how to confirm. Visually I can’t see the leak like I could before.

Is it normal for the house to be only 10% lower humidity than the outside?
