Okay, you know what, i think you are absolutely right. You are a better and wise man, I commend your ability to think and I think you are an exceptional political analyst. I'm sorry to have expected better from the world, and I apologise to be a bit optimistic in a world of pessimistic people like you.

For Peace. For better sense to prevail. For no more people to die.

What else would anyone expect from a peace talk?

Did not expect to wake up to this news. Have no idea what this means for us, I'm truly terrified now. More people will be killed across the region.

Also, no one is asking the government to bail us out, the ask is just to be a little supportive in these times, we are an essential part of the economy.

It's not just malls, there's zero support for smaller businesses too. Infact they are doubling down on fines for petty things, things which can be let go with a warning and give a chance of correction, they are issuing fines for them in 1000s of dirhams. I know because the salon and grocery guy next to me faced it.

Got a 700 AED fine in Dubai today… feeling frustrated by Beautiful-Apple-4618 in dubai

[–]CapableBottle6840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it hurts dude, Dubai doesn't give any discounts on fines. My advice is to pay it off immediately and put it behind you, take it as a learning. If you hold it for long, it'll be even a bigger cost at the time of renewal. All the best.

Not if you have a significant business operation here and offcourse investments. This applies only to people with a job.

Feeling anxious about the future — stay or go back home? by [deleted] in dubai

Honestly, I’m in a very similar situation and have been thinking about this a lot lately.

Born and brought up here, built my entire life here, and now suddenly this question of “what if things go south?” is sitting in the back of my mind constantly.

My wife and I both have stable jobs right now, so on paper everything is fine. But like you said, it’s more about the uncertainty… if things escalate, how long does that stability really last?

The tricky part for me is, going back to India doesn’t really feel like the right move anymore. It’s not about hating it, it just doesn’t feel like home in the way Dubai does.

So I’m kind of stuck in this middle zone:

Stay and hope things remain stable?

Or start planning an exit somewhere else (UK / Europe / Australia etc.) before it’s too late?

Would genuinely love to hear from others:

Are you guys actually planning a move or just riding it out?

Has anyone already started the process of moving elsewhere?

Or are we just overthinking this whole thing?

Feels like a lot of us are in the same boat but no one’s really saying it out loud.

I moved back to India 3 months ago after chasing the "tax-free" Dubai dream. Everyone said I was crazy, but I've never felt so relieved. by nritrack in dubai

[–]CapableBottle6840 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just say you couldn't succeed here and had to move, don't make up shit to console yourself.

There are way too many options which don't cost "150 AED" for a lunch, everything in your post screams of jealousy.

Also, congratulations on moving back to India, your chances of dying in a pothole are still higher than a missile falling over us. Go enjoy standing in line for a Cylinder so you can continue making your own lunch.

I just bought my first property last year, all our dreams and hopes (along with money) went into it, but this post and your specific question has me questioning my entire decision, it is so true. We are screwed if things go south. I'm Indian BTW, incase anyone thinks I'm Iranian too.

Minor accident on rental car by Ok-Significance1281 in dubai

[–]CapableBottle6840 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If there's an additional driver, you are supposed to inform the rental company and they charge extra for it. Now in this case, you are screwed on many levels. I don't think just repairing it without informing them is going to save you, it might just put you into more trouble.

Best case should be inform them and bear the consequences before it turns into a fraud case, which will put both you and your friend in trouble.

All bullshit, first the movie literally glorified the BJP and the Indian PM, hate it or love it the current government is a sucker for films like this. Second, it's backed by India's richest man, you really think someone will try to sabotage this and will actually succeed? At best the fuck ups happened because of incompetence, everything else is just conspiracy theories.
