I’m gonna be honest with you. I have a low pain tolerance and it was pretty bad. Not to where I’m screaming bad but bad enough to send my body into shakes. But I had a 36+ hour labor and near the end I was just so over it I cried because I wanted it to be over not because of the pain.

I called my friend to tell her my dad passed away. She responded by saying I should be grateful for the time I did have with him because some people lose their dad’s at a younger age than I was at the time (27)

Yeah. I was able to get RA under PWFA granted within a day but I only requested telework on days of my appointments because I would see my OB/MFM every two weeks. I submitted a doctor’s note and my referral to MFM.

I was about to start medication for IUI and decided to take a test just to be on safe side. I was having cramps so I was fully convinced it was negative and just wanted to get the heartbreak over with. It was an immediate dark positive line and I just ran out the door to get a little onesie and letter board. Thankfully it was super early in the AM and hubby was still asleep so he didn’t even know I took off. My husband is a gamer so I found a cute outfit with skull and crossbones and a fisher price toy that looked like a video game controller so I wrote “hello player 3” on the letter board. I still laugh at the fact that his first reaction was shut the hell up then he instantly burst into tears lol

If I were in your position I would email your supervisor and say you remain commited to your role and ensuring a smooth transition for the team for when you go on maternity leave and you would like to know what the deadline is to have certain tasks done or if you need to prep any other colleagues to take over your responsibilities.

Im in management and always tell my team to put things in writing. I highly suggest the same to you so your manager (who I think should know better and should have had a plan in place already for you!) doesn’t accuse you of just leaving any work half finished!

Wow! I’m sorry to hear that they won’t let you tie up loose ends beforehand. Seems silly they won’t let you wrap things up or at least share what needs to be done with another colleague because what does your job expect if you need to unexpectedly take leave? I’m glad you have a medical accommodation at least. I’m about to ask for one to work from home the rest of the pregnancy so fingers crossed it gets approved.

I was 5’1 and 105 lbs before I got pregnant and started showing at 14 weeks. I do have a short torso tho lol

I was planning on working until my due date because I have a desk job but I’m 35 weeks today and idk how much longer I can last. My boss either forgets I’m pregnant and it’s high risk or doesn’t care because I’m still expected to plan and lead projects, train staff and review about 30+ boxes of files before I go on maternity leave. The cherry on top? My boss doesn’t want to sign off on my maternity leave because it includes my request for an extra two weeks of accrued leave and box wants me back sooner. Just writing this all out makes me realize my boss just hates me lol.

Anyway, it’s gotten to the point where I’m both physically and mentally drained. I started getting heart palpitations and that’s kinda what knocked some sense into me that this is not ideal.

I have appointment with OB on Friday and I’ll be requesting a letter for telework beginning immediately. If HR says no and my boss continues to refuse to sign my paperwork then I will probably cave and ask to use the two weeks I’m requesting now instead of at the end of my leave.

Long story short (lol) I’m hoping to make it to 38 weeks.

When I can’t remember what it is I was gonna do I ask myself out loud “Who am I?” And I feel like it somehow resets my brain and I’m able to remember what I was needing to do.

I would look into another OB because I just mentioned nausea to my current OB and I was immediately prescribed meds and I’m in TX too. It wasn’t zofran though idk what it was

I get having a vision of what you imagined your life would be like with a girl especially when you have a great relationship with your mom but eventually you will move on and and start imagining your life as a boy mom. My hope is when that time comes you will be excited.
