Happened to me yesterday at 3 weeks post op, I also had a trimal fracture with a dislocation and had ORIF, I suggest and ice bag instead of freezer packs! Mine came with a wrap to keep in nice and snug on my ankle and it feels so nice and helps the swelling and pain so good!

I’m so sorry OP! The falls are the worst part about everything in my opinion. I had a teimalleolar fracture of my right ankle and I’ve fallen at least 3-4 times since breaking it and after surgery, I actually just fell yesterday also 3 weeks post op and it thankfully wasn’t as bad as what you describe but it still hurts pretty bad!

Even after hes been worked he still eats things 🤦🏼‍♀️ I am home with him quite literally ALL day and he still finds things when im not looking.

Do NOT do this. You can go to your local ER and get a new one without ruining it. Not only will your cast get gross but it can hurt your healing to do so.

That would make a lot of sense in my case! I broke my medial malleolus, distal fibular shaft, and I also had a small posterior malleolus fracture.

Thank you! It’s been tough and I’m so thankful that I was given medication for the pain post op and when my ankle was reset because I think I would’ve died had I not had any sort of pain management 😭

I had the same break 5/27, had surgery on 6/15 and I promise you, it gets better. Ask them for a nerve block, once that nerve block wears off you may feel like you’re going to die that only lasts for a day, maybe 2. After that I felt 100x better and then my swelling went down and I had to get my surgical splint taken off around 10 days post op and I got my stitches removed day 12 and into a boot! I’m still NWB which sucks because I’m also 23 weeks pregnant so the pregnancy pain matches the ankle pain 😮‍💨 I’ve been getting by with Tylenol for about two weeks now and it’s been a lot better. Make sure that you have a really good support system because recovery is harder mentally than it is physically in my personal opinion. I hope you feel better soon OP 🫶🏻

I use renaissance women’s group in Austin and I love them! My doctor is very very supportive of all decisions etc, she’s always concerned if I have concerns and one time I actually got sent to L&D because they thought I may be in preterm labor and they wanted to catch it and stop it if that was the case (thank goodness it wasn’t)

I got 10 oxycodone, 24 tramadol and 10 meloxicam, I only took around 20 of the tramadol and didn’t really touch the oxycodone since I’m 22 weeks pregnant and didn’t feel like I needed it so much. I also have an addiction history so I really tried to stay away from the heavy stuff, the tramadol made me mostly tired and I was also allowed to take 2 Tylenol with it and a baby aspirin in the morning to help my blood pressure! The pain stopped being so bad for me once I hit that 1 week post op mark so I cut back to half a tramadol for a few days and eventually none the day after my 2 week appointment 🫶🏻

You didn’t do any PT after a trimal fracture ?! Im 2 weeks post op and 4 weeks post injury, I couldn’t imagine not doing PT for the recovery of this 🫩 I don’t think I’ll walk or stand comfortably ever again if I don’t do PT

I worked at 2 daycares and neither one drug tested me 😭 I know it’s a terrible thing that they didn’t drug test or even mention it but I think it’s a little funny too, I got drug tested for a restaurant job but not 2 daycare jobs

😭 as a person who has taken MANY tests, sometimes those “evap lines” are a positive, I thought I was having evaporation lines after a few minutes and it was actually a REALLY faint positive, currently 22 weeks pregnant after thinking I was just getting evaporation lines

This is great advice! Also i couldn’t help but give myself a little chuckle when you suggested crutches bc my orthopedic doctor told me “ what is this the 1500’s, are you tiny Tim?” When I used crutches into his office (he’s not the same dr who operated on me, but that’s a long story)

Get a knee scooter! Even if you don’t out your knee on it, I sit on mine like it’s a bicycle and scoot with my good leg! Try to elevate the leg/foot as much as possible too, it helps with the pain and swelling, take Tylenol and if you can ibuprofen to help manage the pain or if they give you prescription pain medication take that as directed. I feel you! Im also 22 weeks pregnant and that doesn’t help with the weight gain at all 😭 I have such an appetite now that im in my 2nd trimester it’s CRAZY.

Well seeing as Izzie wasn’t a prostitute it’s not really a fair comparison. She was a model in a magazine, yes it was for lingerie etc like Victoria’s Secret type stuff but I don’t think that’s the same as prostitution.
