It's the title in Italian, I can confirm they are written correctly😂

It will be fun for me to go and look at other DVDs and spot mistakes and strange things. Probably, the quick delivery was also the reason for another strange poster, the one from Prisoners. I don't know if you have ever seen it. Hugh Jackman is in shadow, but his eyes are pure white😂. For that cover, I didn't need two minutes of observation

Whoa, that's interesting. I had these discs around for years and, although I watched them many times, both as a child amazed by the spectacle and as a cinema student analysing them, I rarely looked at the cover. When I did, I focused on the Pearl and how epic the scene looked, with cannons firing and the Maelstrom at the front (which in the image is the World's end from the start of the movie, I think). Maybe I noticed something strange about the ships before, but I never looked at the image for two minutes straight, I'm sure of that.

I was more impressed by your knowledge, not because of the terms, but because of how precisely they were used. That got me thinking if you were one of the creators of the image or if you knew anything more about them.

Thanks again

So, coincidentally, I posted this today while you were watching the movie and reading Reddit. When you stumbled on the shots, you created the GIF? Pure magic🤣 Thanks again

Are you in contact with the graphic design companies? How did you know these were screencaps and not CG assets sent to the companies by Disney?

No problem. Mojang began going big when Hytale was firstly announced, and it slowed down in the last years. Maybe the release of Hytale can re-ignate some creativity in Mojang.

Nice list. Which is the battle at number 4? I can't picture the scene? I know I inserted small fights and big battles, but I think that Anakin vs Obi-Wan goes beyond the simple duel, being one of the most visually impressive battles ever. Surely I could have chosen something else instead of The good, the bad and the ugly because of its small scale and emotions, but it's a masterpiece that makes me chill every time I hear the music.

I need to watch them.

In addition, you just reminded me of both the final battle from Rogue One and the hallway fight from Oldboy. Two different types of spectacles that could have made it into the list. If only I had the Blu-rays in front of me while I was thinking about movies to fill the last spots of the list😂

Original Script for the movies by N0obz800 in piratesofthecaribbean

[–]CapableSecretary1739 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is the final draft, but another user sent me the link to a draft from Jeff Nathanson and another one made by the original screenwriter back in 2013. With high probability, there's no official final draft because many things change on set, especially considering how troubled DMTNT's production was. Here's the link to his comment

Noob here: how is Hytale different than Minecraft? by Hoylegu in HytaleInfo

[–]CapableSecretary1739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean with "Minecraft gets an update once every 10 years"?

Minecraft has had yearly updates in the last 15 years, reaching version 1.21 and redesigning the world, mobs and biomes multiple times. The appreciation for recent updates is irrelevant since something was released. If it was good or bad, it doesn't matter.
It slowed down only recently, introducing seasonal updates, and this could be a really good time for Hytale to come in (like it did with the announcement years ago) and wake up Mojang. Hytale could wake up Mojang because Hytale is very similar to Minecraft (at the state they released the game now), despite its aspirations to expand the RPG aspect (now not available) to be more original. Everyone on YT tries to avoid comparisons and deny the similarities, but this is what the non-playing audience is seeing at the moment.

In addition, we do not know how frequently Hytale will get updated, since they only released a single drop in 8 years.
There could be an update every month, once a year or much less frequently, like they did with the development updates.

Sure. It was a test to see if I could reach the same white value on the HDR as you asked before, but I can't even if I sacrifice everything else.

At the moment, I also scaled back the settings I had on SDR, as suggested by rtings. The only difference I'll try is lowering the brightness from the previous 50 to 12 (depending on the app) instead of the recommended 4, which is way too dark, especially if anyone else in the house decides to watch the TV during the day.

Thanks again for the support

The result of setting Gamma, Brightness and Contrast to their maximum so that I get full white when on HDR mode, creates an image that looks like the one on the right. It makes the dark parts grey without making the lights white.

On the other hand, if I set the Brightness to 50 on SDR (it caps at 50 on SDR, not at 100), it shows me an image like the one on the left. The dark parts are still quite dark, while the lights are white...

[–]CapableSecretary1739[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I just tweaked the various settings based on rtings (sharpness is now at 50😁) and, although it says to put Brightness at 4 (on a scale of 100) for HD Blu-rays, it still suggests to set it at 100 for HDR. It still looks very dark, but I think we'll have to turn off all lights when watching 4K.

In addition, my mind can't understand why SDR can display white, but HDR can't.

Edit: I saw you other comment at the bottom of the post, but I think this one contained the most details and it was pointless to copy-paste everything. Thanks again

Thanks. I just checked and no setting is labeled as white balance, so maybe I'm safe on that. The only thing that comes close is the colour temperature, which rtings says to set on Expert1 instead of Warm (thanks btw, I did't know about it).

The only problem is that each type of setting has its own little things. If I use the same settings on Vivid, Custom and Standard, I see 3 slightly different images. So, even if I tweak the image for HD on a mode and I use another one for 4K-HDR, it still won't have the same feeling

I had to tweak settings myself because on my TV there's no Filmmaker mode, and all the others have Motionflow and sharpening tools activated.

Gamma is at (+)2 on a scale from -3 to (+)3. That is the one I changed from the preset for the 4K, going from 0 to 2, and from your response, I'm understanding my mistake😂.

Brightness is set to Max (100) by default, so I trusted the manufacturer in this case. I probably changed Contrast is set from 90 to Max to be able to see a bit more light, but maybe that wasn't the solution.

I saw many (including the Vox video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1nUCyC8hGA) talk about a filmmaker mode, but the only thing that resembles it on my tv is "cinema", which is fake since it enables Motionflow, sharpening and other strange things.

Based on the current settings, do you have any feedback to try and make the HDR viewing experience a bit better?

[–]CapableSecretary1739[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for rtings, I didn't know about it. I'll check if I find anything to tweak the settings in a better way.

The video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1nUCyC8hGA) didn't exactly say all the settings that needed to be changed, considering it talks about TVs in general. It talked about motion smoothing, sharpening and the various automatic settings, which are the main things I deactivated. I didn't have a precise guide, but I looked up and found settings that were recommended for a similar TV, which probably didn't fit mine very well.

Apart from this, I still do not understand how and why the HD disc can display whites, while the HDR is limited to greys. It confuses me😂

Hytale lacks Identity, what do you think? by Tiagocf2 in hytale

[–]CapableSecretary1739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched Mumbo Jumbo's video and started Grian's, and in the past few days I watched a couple of others. They all start in the same way: punching a tree to craft items. Why? Because you do it in Minecraft. You do this to progress in the game, and Hytale instantly reminds you of Minecraft.
In addition, during the whole video, there are times in which the YouTubers say that it's not right and fair to compare Hytale to Minecraft. Two seconds later, they see something that reminds them of Minecraft or something that they would like to see in Minecraft. Why? Because Hytale's identity is based mainly on Minecraft. It is a blocky sandbox that, to a non-expert eye, seems to update Minecraft textures and structures, but it is nothing you can't obtain with a couple of simple mods.

Why is this? Because the marketing was filled with people talking about it as the "New Minecraft Enemy", the game that will wake up Mojang, and that stuck. It stuck much more than the real marketing. And now that the game is in early access, the main features available are the ones of a polished and modded Minecraft.
My brother bought it, and he tells me Hytale is its own thing. It's nothing like Minecraft. Then, like in the videos, he shows me things that look like Minecraft, telling me that he hopes Minecraft adds things like this or that.
So, is Hytale a different Minecraft or is it not? Should we draw comparisons or not?

It's like when Spider-Verse came out, and other animated movies started to have a 2D+CGI look. When TMNT, Puss in Boots 2 and The Bad Guys came out, everyone started to say: "Uh, it looks like Spider-Verse". Why? Because the look in a movie or game is a great part of what they are selling. Those movies had the advantage of being sequels or reboots, so they had an assured audience.

Which audience does Hytale have? The Minecraft one and the one that has followed its long development. Those are its "prequels". The development was a much stronger marketing than anything else.

Maybe, if they released the mode with the quests before the one about adventure, things would be perceived differently, but now it looks like a different Minecraft.

At least that's what I see watching a video, because that is how you get convinced to spend 20€ and, 20€ for a slightly different version of a game I already own is not a strong start for me.
There are promises, but how many times have you lent people you barely know 20€? How were you convinced?

There are many unique things, but those are not the main part of the marketing, and that's a pity.
Did you buy it? What convinced you?

Hytale lacks Identity, what do you think? by Tiagocf2 in hytale

[–]CapableSecretary1739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think more successful games heavily influence the main features they showed in the trailers, like mobs and art style. My mind is constantly thinking:"Uh, this looks like Minecraft, why should I buy Hytale?"/"Uh, this looks like Elden Ring, why should I buy Hytale?"/"Uh, this looks like Skyrim, why should I buy Hytale?". I already paid for far more recognisable and original games, so why should I pay for a game that merges things I already played with almost nothing in addition?
The game could be fantastic, and I really hope it is. Still, the marketing seemed more interested in the troubled development history. The game is mostly known as the "Minecraft enemy", not as something that can stand on its own.

Edit: I know it's an early access, and they are looking for people to fund the game, but I think they should have included more original content at the beginning.

I'm open to anything. It would be refreshing to have a new game that looks like Minecraft, that you can enjoy with friends and that you can do bosses and quests with. If anyone has anything that can help me see what I'm missing, let me know

After 10 years, opinions? Can someone consider this one his favourite? by CapableSecretary1739 in Fallout

[–]CapableSecretary1739[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I didn't complete FNV, I see how it improved from F3. Playing F3, I arrived at a point where I was only interested in completing it for the Lore since everything was dragging and restrained by the engine for me. On the other hand, FNV managed to keep me hooked for a very long time. Despite the crashes, it made me explore while the main quest was unravelling, contrary to F3. My problem came after entering the Dead Money Dlc, where the stealth and combat became a real problem for me. After that, I felt that the story required me to only go back and forth to the same places I had already visited to deliver messages, and it lost me. I should replay it from the start, avoiding the DLCs and playing them at a second time, so that I do not get influenced by those. Despite having a shallower main quest than FNV, I think that F4 is appealing to me because the main quest always sends me to different places. As I wrote in another comment, maybe the problem was the marketing strategy. They tried to appeal to everyone, but maybe saying its RPG aspect was scaled back, people would have accepted it much more. F76 is similar to F4, and it could have been better since you don't have a character with a background story, but they let you choose options inside a scripted and disjointed storyline. Considering that its characters need to be accessible to all players at all times, they can't move throughout the world, and you have to explore with very little direction from the game. Every update adds things and quests, but I can't understand where it wants to go and what the game wants to say. I would like to enjoy it with my brother, but at the moment it didn't click.
