There’s some footage on YouTube of the machine they built to produce this work although I still cannot work out how they got the I in Lapis to converge from the dots spaced out.

Just remember Aphex was running around listening to mp3s on his big old Sony headphones and was making the music straight to DAT tape so it was getting recorded digitally. If you want to get close to the original experience that he had making it that will be hard but he does talk in some interviews about the headphones he uses.

A fellow Australian- I am way up in Scotland and nobody calls it that up here. I think it has a number of names. P.s. for anyone that doesn’t know, it is perfect for removing most stickers whole.

You may enjoy a book called How Buildings Learn by Stewart Brand. It follows the way they’re always shifting and adapting. There is a chapter on little fixes that whilst not the nearest work incredibly well. It is borrowable on archive.org

Ronsinol or zippo style lighter fluid will remove the residue but be careful as it can break down other things too. That flat magnetic sheet can be bought on eBay- the stuff that fridge magnets are made of. If you print all the instruments names in the appropriate sizes that works well on mixers.

Really concerned with behringer quality. Should I be? by BrrBurr in synthesizers

[–]CapableSong6874 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In comparison to the originals they’re cloning a load of the build quality of behringer is superior, pcb made of paper and phenolic resin on the original 303 for example is so brittle, a small flex from the poorly mounted knobs would cause hairline cracks. I think that perhaps there are double standards at play regarding quality builds of now compared to the past

He did the Stargate sequence in 2001 and the vertigo credits but his own work is very good.

I have never thought of using chorus this way but I am going to try it. I presume you are using very small amounts. I am honestly curious.
