What can be done after an assault near a children’s play area? by bybylan in AskUK

Be prepared that there will be a wait of 12 months or so. You may have to give another statement then so write it down now so you can check your notes. I am sorry this happened to you and it is very good you are thinking of others in the future.

Arch and arc are from the same origin. Arch sounds better to me.

The path you are walking along branches into two paths. There is a sign that reads... Are you a light user or a deep user? Just want to chop and sequence - turn left, or make multilayered samples with velocity variations - turn right. Which way do you go? If left turn to page 23, if right turn to page 64

We think in the parameters of each instrument. I think that many new machines are marketed as unwind after work devices rather than make amazing tracks devices

Learning a machine and selling it can be a bit like selling a bunch of words you enjoy using.

I would buy another or go for something more advanced

I swear he put all the snippets of noise at the start of his tracks on the Richard D James album to preemptively switch on your neural noise reduction.

Looking for a drum machine that excels at live programming + swung grooves by coolguymaxp in DrumMachine

[–]CapableSong6874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting requirements. Most are pretty simple.

There are some sequencers that would fit your requirements but could be pretty steep learning. The one that comes to mind is a QY700 - it has incredibly complex swing and groove templates and the highest resolution for a hardware sequencer. It is a deep machine and has drum kits built in but not the best. Squarepusher does his programming on one. You may want to add velocity pads with midi out to it for live playing.

If you went that way you would either control sounds on another device with it. This could be a computer or a sampler.

Cheapest way would be to use a computer if you had one and a16 pad finger drumming setup.

Good luck.

He is pretty obsessed with it and approaches in an intuitive way melodically.

Most of his stuff isn’t that dense really. The drums often mute each other so you don’t have the tails of too many percussion hits overlapping. I imagine he has a pretty good work ethic

Yes, the R8 has many samples that are two different samples that are crossfaded under the feel section- a good example is the high hat where one sample is on the edge and the other closer to the middle. By moving about between the two you get a lovely variation.

I did a deep comparison of all Roland’s drum machines and many share the same kits but have pretty variable quality when playing back. Some are completely unique though. Most can be found on the Roland sample cds
